D+ in IB Bio ):

My grade in IB Bio dropped to a D+ my junior year of high school due to a death in the family so I was gone for a while. I already completed my two years of laboratory science my freshman and sophomore year. Will I be able to get into an UCs or which CSUs would be good to go to considering I would like to major in nursing? My UC GPA is 3.7.

I just started my senior year and my academic classes are AP Psych, IB English, AP Calculus BC, Anatomy, and I have A’s in all these classes so far.

The D+ will be used in your CSU/GPA calculation and it does not look too favorably if you plan on going to Nursing. The C’s on your transcript do not bode well for UC admissions either. Based just on your UC GPA, UCR/UCM may be the only UC’s where you might have a chance for an acceptance. Nursing programs are extremely competitive, so apply to a variety of schools for the best chances. UC’s also recommend 3 years of science. Senior grades will be considered in the UC/CSU admission decisions but are used to maintain your provisional admission once accepted.

Good luck.
