^^ I was wondering about that, too, Packer. Usually when they cut away to the logo it’s because of a wardrobe malfunction or something similar. But if that had been the case I think they would have commented about it or at least made a joke.

The young girl singer is Jackie Evancho. She was on America’s Got Talent a couple of years ago when she was 10. She’s amazing!

I really liked Maria and Derek’s paso as well as Peta and Donald’s waltz. Katherine wasn’t as impressive this week as she has been. Melissa was as sour as ever. William Levy was good but I thought the judges over-praised him.

Did you see the show last Tuesday night, about what’s involved in producing two hours of DWTS for Monday/Tuesday. That would explain what happen. One of the cameras probably missed his/her shot.

Yeah Nrdsb4, I agree. I think Derek and Maria will win. They have been the most consistent. All the others have had sore feet, broken bones, or hill-and-valley scores. Are these scores cumulative? Anyone know?

Limabeans -each week’s scores stand alone. I like Derek & Maria, too. I think Rashon and Melissa will be in the bottom this week. I’ll miss Maks, but not a fan of Melissa at all.

Okay. Here’s my list and guess of the order of who’ll win: Derek & Maria, William & Cheryl, Donald & Peta, ? & Mark, Jaleel & Kym, Roshon & Chelsea, and Melissa & Maks. Did I miss anyone? Do you agree?

Loved Jackie Evancho tonight and when she was the runner-up on America’s Got Talent in 2010. Her second performance sent chills down my spine. I loved Derek and Maria’s Paso Doble. Thought it was one of the highlight dances of the season.

Agree that Maria and Derek’s Paso Doble was beyond brilliant tonight. I don’t even like the Paso, but this was such creative choreography and such a tight performance.

An aside: I took some pleasure in watching Team Tango’s performance with all in tuxedo looks - ie, the women in cutaways and opaque tights. It was nice not being distracted by marvelling at what feats of tailoring/wiring/taping prevented the women’s costumes from falling off.

Well, I just voted: 2 votes for Derek and Maria, 2 votes for Cheryl and William, 2 votes for Katherine and Mark, and 1 vote for Donald and Peta. I’d like to see Roshon stay for another couple of weeks, but that’s it. Melissa and Jaleel…time to move on.

Monday night’s semi-finals show was excellent. All the dancers performing at their best, with the exception of Katherine Jenkins (my favorite dancer) in her 2nd performance. She didn’t complete the very last move. She claimed she hurt her lower back, but I played it back numerous times and didn’t see where the injury occured.

Does anyone else think she may have falsely stated she was injured when in fact she just blew the finish to their dance? She looked much more disgusted with herself than injured, even as the credits were rolling. I truly hope that she is not the one going home because of this one mistake to an otherwise “flawless” season of hers.

I didn’t think she was injured, just a missed - very difficult - move. I was surprised when the whole injury/medical attention chatter started.

Anyway, I do think this is the absolute best set of semi-finalists ever. I know the judges on all of these shows say that kind of thing ad nauseam. But I truly wish none of them had to be knocked out at this point.

Personally, I have reasons to love them all. I wonder if Katherine will go due to the lack of a dedicated pre-established fan base, as she’s mentioned herself? I’ll be sad to see whichever one gets knocked out.

I suffer from back spasms. The fact a doctor said that she had a spasm is solely based on what she told him about a pain in her lower back.

I didn’t think the kind of pain that comes with lower back spasms was ever evident on her face, or as she approached the judge’s table, or with her posture while standing waiting for their comments, or with her walking the stairs to speak with Brooke. Immediately following her miscue she had her face buried in her hands but it didn’t look like it was from any physical pain, only mental anguish from not completing that last move properly.

I think she felt more pressure than normal because all the other semi-finalists had been doing so well and there’s a strong possibility that she was blaming her miscue on a back ailment that never occured.

I like Donald Driver. His scores have been consistently good, and he comes without tears or tantrums. I also think it would be nice for a different pro to win: Cheryl, Derek, and Mark have multiple trophy balls.

Part of the problem was that Katherine threw herself into that back drop. Normally, on a step like that, you should push your needs forward so you are supporting most of your own weight. She dropped straight back and a little early, I think. That pulled Mark off balance, so he couldn’t get over her. She then tried to stand up and probably wrenched her back doing it.

I’ve noticed that she often looks awkward when she slides between Mark’s legs and then tries to stand up. I think it’s because she doesn’t have strong abs. Maria doesn’t have the same problem, but she’s got abs better than some of the guys, so she has the strength to get herself up without misusing her back.

When I was learning a similar drop in the salsa, that’s what I was doing, and I had to stop because if was hurting my back until I could master the technique of pushing forward with my knees so I was supporting most of my own weight.

BTW, I think Donald will win and Maria will go tonight.
