Dancing With the Stars....here we go again

I am disappointed that Sabrina is gone. I always look forward to Louis and her because they are a class act together. Louis flies under the radar it seems, most likely because he is openly gay and not a “heartthrob” like most of the other male pros. But he is always kind, supportive, and brings out the best in his “stars.”
I sense that Apolo and Katarina (sp?) don’t really like each other. They argue and seem tense together. I thought perhaps he would have been voted off. I
I am getting tired of Kelly and Val.
In the end, it is fun entertainment and they all do a great job!

Nope, Bacherlor first, missy. She only got on DWTS because someone got injured and was a last-minute sub. I’ll have to go look up now who that was.

Thank you, wikipedia. She took over for Nancy O’Dell: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melissa_Rycroft

I am very fond of Louis. I agree with this:

Thanks to Frankenstorm I am behind on my DWTS viewing. I must say that it is pretty ridiculous for Sabrina to go now. She probably should have been one of the final 3.

Okay, it’s all coming back now, YDS. 2009 was* so *long ago…I guess she was able to sub in so quickly because she was already a dancer.

I don’t like Apolo’s partner…when the pro and the contestant are standing there waiting to see if they will go home, it’s not supposed to be the pro crying and the contestant doing the comforting!

missy, I’m embarrassed by the insignificant things I remember.

agree that Karina, Apolo’s partner, is acting oddly this season. She became likeable last time with JR Martinez, and this time she seems so unstable. I think she’s going for vulnerable, but it’s not working.

I also like Louis. Just seems like a good guy. But I never warmed up to Sabrina. Last time she was on, I felt like she was a ringer and shouldn’t have been there. This time, she seemed more pleasant but agree with everyone else that she kind of overpowered her way around the dance floor.

Karine became likeable because JR was just irresistible, not only a real hero but just a force of nature. She knew she had a winner and she did do well with him. She didn’t do nearly as well with Ralph Macchio who could have been a winner, I think, with the right partner. I think a lot of the past winners have their own opinions about what should happen this time. As a world class athlete and a previous winner, with Julianne Hough no less, Apolo probably has a lot higher expectations. He said they had a fight, but it wasn’t really shown on the pre-dance footage. Usually, the producers don’t hesitate to show meltdowns or fights between the couples.

I’ve never seen a pro cry about anything. I think they’ve all made a mistake at one point or another and no one has done anything more than profusely apologize to their celeb.

I also like Louis. He’s actually the most decorated pro on the show in terms of dance competitions won.

I like Louis and Tony also. Tony never gets a winable celeb. Kirsie should go, I like her as a person but she isnt as a good a dancer.

My faves tonight were Shawn, Apolo, and Gilles. Then, perhaps Melissa.

Not that the judges’ scores seem to matter a whole lot it seems, I can’t figure out how Emmitt was scored higher than Apolo.

While I think Kirstie should go, tonight was not one of her best nights. I would vote off Kirstie and Emmit at this point if I could. Two will be eliminated next week.

I enjoy watching the professional “extra” dance performances. Some very good dancers!

Emmitt is once again over scored. Harumph.

Totally agree that Emmitt was overscored!
My favorite, as usual, was Shawn! I thought her dance was fantastic, and how hard that must have been for her, to have both Derek and Mark choreographing and in at the practices, and not even knowing who she was going to be dancing with. I also really liked Apollo tonight and Melissa. Not a big Gilles fan. There is just something awkward about his dancing, to me.

Liked the fusion theme overall.

Bruno is really getting on my nerves, and has been for several years now.

Ditto about Emmitt getting overscored.

Apolo seemed to get underscored a little. Did they deduct because they didn’t intertwine their 2 dances like others after them did?

I thought Shawn was the best that she’s ever been. Having two dances that didn’t require her to be sexy/sensual really helped. How funny that partner Mark Ballas wanted to “get creative” but choreographer Derek kept him under control.

Melissa and Tony had a great night.

The back story of Kirstie organizing a Sandy relief effort is going to get her a lot of votes but maybe not enough points and hopefully will be going home.

The only thing I could think of that resulted in Apolo “only” getting 9’s was that they went first. Every judge only had positive things to say!

You know who would be interesting to see dance together?? Apolo and Shawn. I think that while neither of them is necessary into the “sexy” part of the dance (fine with me) their technical skills are outrageous and if you put their tricks and athleticism together - wow, that would be cool to see!!!

I agree that Apolo gets underscored and Emmitt gets overscored. I think Kirstie and Emmitt should go next, even though I enjoy them both.

Shouldn’t Derek be wearing a neck brace? I am not a medical professional, so I really don’t know what I am talking about, but I felt awful for him. He was so stiff and I felt nervous anytime anyone gave him a hug or when he was in practice. And, what is the deal with Mark and Derek? Are they a couple or are they just super close since Derek trained with Mark’s Dad? (I am scaring myself with how much I know about these people).

I am not a Gilles fan. He is a great dancer, but I find him a bit too “I’m sexy and I know it!” I guess he is exploiting his strengths, but it comes off as narcissistic (spelling?) to me.

I am hoping for an Apolo - Shawn final.

Derek and Mark attempted a music career. I doubt they’re a couple. ;)

May be a silly question, I’m a newbie for this show… Do the strongest ones always go later in the show? It seems like the best scores go middle to late in show.

I don’t think so. I think they put strong dances at the front and the end. Unfortunately, the first ones tend to get underscored.

A 30 for Emmitt??? The fix is in.

I’m SO over the scoring on this show…

I voted for Melissa and Kelly tonight. Agree that Shawn’s dance was spectacularly entertaining but wasn’t a samba. A 7? Ouch!

Emmitt was way overscored. How could they give him a higher score than Gilles? Gilles actually danced. Emmitt basically stood there, shook his hips, and let the girls dance around him. I don’t think he ever did anything but the basic salsa step.

I loved what Len said to Derek and Mark about that dance being self-indulgent. That’s exactly what it was. I didn’t even care for it as a dance, and it certainly wasn’t a samba.

I really like Kelly’s jive.

I’m wondering if Emmitt’s not in trouble with the overinflated scored two weeks in row. Either Apolo’s in trouble, too, or they just don’t care.

It should be Kirstie tomorrow but probably won’t be. I think the next two to go will be Melissa and Apolo. I just don’t think they have the fan bases of the others, but you never know.

It’s all going to come down to the public. The % difference between the highest and lowest judges’ scores is less that two tenths of a percent.
