Yes. For example, people may have seen Snooki in a different light if Derek was her partner.

This is so true.
Really, I think Derek is a genius. He’s like the reincarnation of Fred Astaire. His dancing is incredible, his choreography is incredible, his personality is delightful. I think he ought to have a Broadway show, like Crispin Glover.

As soon as they gave Corbin 9s, the result was inevitable. I am happy with the result, although I think Val and Elizabeth were robbed, big time. I hope that the physical problems Amber had are a wake-up cal for her to knock off 50 lbs or so. As I said earlier, she doesn’t need to be slim, per se, but to be crippling oneself in one’s 20s is a shame. (And I speak as a person who is not svelte.)

Anyone watching DWTS? Or is there a new thread for this season? Just want to say, Charlie White is Prince Charming in the flesh. Wowie! Oh, and he can dance, too. :)

Charlie can obviously dance Contemporary, which probably comes as close to matching the flow of movement when he’s on the ice. Next week we’ll see if he can match this effort when he does a Ballroom dance. I’m betting that his ice dance partner Meryl will be equally impressive when she gets a contemporary routine. Her biggest obstacle may be having Maks as a partner, who is not a particularly great choreographer and a terrible teacher, not to mention emotional train wreck. I really like Candace and absolutely love Amy. There looks like there are several contenders… and then there’s Billy D.

Wish they would use the half-point paddles from a few seasons ago. It really helped differentiate the dancers and their scores more.

What did Derek do for Meryl and Charlie at the Olympics? I was surprised he didn’t get her. And as much as I like those ice dancers, is that really fair to “regular” contestants? I’m not a sports person, and didn’t know that hockey player, but I didn’t like him. And it seemed like Peta was really thrown off and gaga over her partner, who seemed to be a little more distant to her. I’m glad they brought back that upstairs interview/hang out space, I thought Erin did a good job asking real questions, and not quite sure why they felt they needed to replace the band. It just seems so loud and hectic in that space.

I didn’t like Erin Andrews. She needs to remember she is not on a sports field. She was a bit rough last night. Hopefully she will get better as an interviewer in this format.

Both were beautiful to watch, but no, it’s not fair.

As much as I didn’t like Brooke, I agree with you about Erin.

I liked Erin, so I guess I’m in the minority. She did show a lot of cleavage though lol!

I liked the ice dancers also. Lots of talent and I am sure they will work really hard. I thought Charlie White was really good. I think they were judged based on their experiences, not on par with the other celebrities.

Erin’s voice has a very unpleasant timbre to my ear, just like Samantha. I thought Candace and Amy were over-praised. I really hope Billy Dee is the first to go. He was a heart throb back in the day–remember him with Diana Ross in the Billie Holiday movie?-- but he just cannot move these days. I’m already tired of NeNe.

What struck me odd about Erin Andrew’s debut on DWTS was she seemed to get a lot more camera time than Tom Bergeron did. There’s something bothersome about Erin… For me, I think it might be her poor posture more than her voice. And she seems a little too “loosey goosey” for the show.

I like Erin, but I think DWTS requires a more refined approach than NFL sideline coverage. She’s definitely better than Brooke.

I like Erin on the sideline but she was a bit too strident and didn’t have the fine touch of diplomacy about how to ask sensitive questions and approach dancers after low scores. Also - she’s about 10 feet taller than anyone else on screen. They need to put her in flats.

I was never crazy about Brooke until we had Erin (and usually I like her). Now I realize that Brooke did a pretty good job.

Billy Dee Williams is safe? Seriously?

After tonight’s show, I remembered why I hate watching. Billy Dee Williams can barely move due to his arthritis. I thought Sean Avery was so cute when he smiled and was a much better dancer than several of the others. Too bad he was voted off last week.

A little gross with the adding of the two extra women to Billy Dee’s performance. Really?!?! I find some of the shows antics so over the top and at times, vulgar.

It seems “super stars” or really bad dancers will outlast better dancers most seasons. I thought Sean Avery came off like a real a$$ last week in his package. I’m guessing I’m not the only one who thought he just seemed mean. I just love that Charlie now - what a cutie. And what’s with the rude comments the judges make towards Max? I thought he was nice trying to help out a competitor.

Any hockey fan will tell you that he’s always been a jerk. Sounds like he hasn’t changed even in retirement.

I just caught up on this year’s shows. I have always liked Erin on the sideline and I like her on DWTS. I think she will get better as the season goes along.

I am a huge fan of Meryl and Maks. I think her energy and work ethic is giving Maks a run for his money. She seems to be totally in control of their partnership and he seems a little uncomfortable! Tonight’s dance had a whole lot of…chemistry. Wow.

And Charlie just belongs in a Disney movie. Prince Charming for sure.

Most all of the remaining contestants are charming and pretty talented. This may be one of the most “even” seasons yet.

I am really loving this season! I think there are some great dancers, and I am loving the chemistry between most of the couples. I actually find myself clapping on my couch after some of the performances. Not sure why I am enjoying it so much more this year, but I am.
