<p>Did anyone see the last night’s show and, if so, what did you think? No one seems to really be a front-runner this year, although for me JR Martinez would have to be my “sentimental favorite”. I hope Metta World Peace formerly/presently/aka (whatever?!) Ron Artest goes home tonight.</p>
<p>I agree - Ron Artest should go. His pro partner wasn’t so hot, either (I forget her name). If not him, then Elisabetta Canalis (what in the world does George Clooney see in her?)!</p>
<p>I was pleasantly surprised by Chaz Bono and Carson Kressley. So far, it looks like the front-runners are Ricki Lake, Chynna Phillips and JR Martinez.</p>
<p>As usual, Mark Ballas thought it was all about him as he outdanced his partner and made himself the star of the number. I wish he’d lose the spats, too. </p>
<p>Not sure whether I’m happy to see Derek back. Why do they always give him the celebs with some talent? I’d like to see how well he’d do with Nancy Grace instead of Ricki Lake.</p>
<p>I wonder if the producers of the show (or whoever makes the pairing decisions), actually know how much dancing “talent” or experience the celebs have when they dole them out to the pros. I have also wondered who and why they get paired the way they do…</p>

<p>I couldn’t believe he wasn’t called out on this. I remember that they called out Lacey Schwimmer on this when she danced with Lance Bass. If he wants to show off at the expense of his partner, he should go down south and dance the shag.</p>
<p>I’m no judge of dancing, but I thought that Chaz Bono looked very happy. And I think it took a lot of courage on his part to go through with this, given all the vile things that have been said, not only about his history but about his weight.</p>
<p>^I thought Chaz did a very good job with his dance routine last night. Where was Cher last night and who was the girl in the audience supporting him who got a little teary-eyed, his girl friend?</p>

<p>I missed it! I was thinking that this was going to be a terrible lineup, but it sounds better than I feared.</p>
<p>Now all I can do is hope that I have sufficient reception to actually SEE it…</p>

<p>jshain, yes, that woman who was teary was Chaz’s girlfriend. I recognized her from the documentary about his transition, Becoming Chaz. So sweet that she was a bit overwhelmed for him after his dance. I thought he did pretty well, and under soooooo much pressure.
I also loved Carson Kressley. So entertaining, even if not the best dancer (but not terrible either).
Loved JR. Such a positive spirit and did very well in his first dance. I also enjoyed Ricki Lake.
I hope they send home Metta World Peace (stupid name change) or Elizabetta, who was pretty dreadful.</p>

<p>JR is on my soon-to-be-gone soap, so I’m a longtime fan. I thought he was great. Ron Artest is my vote to go home.</p>
<p>When they first announced the lineup I thought it looked like a great season. Last night confirmed it. Carson was hilarious, Chaz was good, Nancy Grace (ick!) was surprisingly engaging. Elisabetta is my next choice to go home, judging from this week’s performance. She just looked lost at times. But I do see what Clooney saw in her. She’s very pretty, though too skinny for me.</p>
<p>Just watching now and the dogs are barking up a storm at something outside so I am having to stop the DVR every minute!</p>
<p>Haven’t seen JR dance yet, but I do love him on All My Children, which BTW, the last day is this Friday :(</p>

<p>Why is this called dancing with the stars? Where are the stars and where is the dancing. The producers really had to scrape the proverbial barrel to come up with such a lineup. All we miss is Quasimodo. They could merge DWTS with the BIGGEST LOSER and we might have more entertainment. </p>

<p>I’d love to see Khloe Kardashian kicked off the guest list for the remainder of the season for yelling at Len Goodman to “Clean out your ears…” when he said her brother wasn’t feeling the music during his routine last night. Very disrespectful and classless.</p>

<p>They need to keep Nancy’s twins in the audience. I’m sure she behaves differently when they are part of her audience. She was surprising engaging last night.</p>
<p>I was surprised by Rob. I think he’ll beat Kim’s stay on the show. He is probably as klassless as his sisters, but at least he’s less over the top. IMHO, he’s turned out pretty much as you would expect when surrounded by 4 such women (including mom). </p>
<p>I thought JR was wonderful and Chynna, too. </p>
<p>I was pleasantly surprised by David Arquette. He was funny but not obnoxious and obviously wanted to do well. It was sweet to see Courtney in the audience with Coco.</p>
<p>Cher has said she won’t show up so as not to take attention away from Chaz, but perhaps she’ll change her mind if he makes it a few weeks.</p>
<p>I am curious to see how Hope will develop. It’s nice to see Maks with the partner he wanted. And it was fun to see Tony almost beside himself with how well his partner could dance.</p>
<p>Don’t really have any favorites. I just wish they’d get rid of Derek AND Mark. They are just too full of themselves. Derek is marginally more considerate of his partners, but that must be a lot easier when you have the partners they’ve gifted him with. Give him a Kardashian or a Playmate whose “twins” get in the way and let’s see what he does. In fact, he was a lot better with Lil’ Kim where he had to work and not just choreograph. Mark is just icky!</p>
<p>The clips of individual dances are on Youtube, without the need to watch all the filler before and after. I watched some of them.</p>
<p>I loved JR - never heard of him before, but he’s a wonderful dancer. He really has something special.</p>
<p>I thought that Ricki Lake was very good. She seems to me to be more of a dancer than Chynna. Chynna is beautiful, and her legs are exquisite. But I don’t think she moves as nicely as Ricki does.</p>
