She mentioned that the music was different from rehearsal. That is a shame and could certainly throw anyone off. Tonight when they showed it again and Tony was trying to talk her through it, it was so obvious to me but I just didn’t see how bad it was the first time around. I’m not a big fan of International ballroom dancing. I prefer what I guess would be called the nightclub versions of the swing (east coast/west coast) cha cha cha, the foxtrot, the rumba, waltz, etc. I can barely pick out the steps in the competitive ballroom dancing.

Chynna really needed fan support to get her through the next round because of her walkabout, but didn’t get it. Besides JR and Rikki, I’m not sure who will fill that 3rd spot. Usually by this time of the competition, I have 4 people that I wouldn’t mind seeing in a final.

Thought I’d bump for the week.

Everyone danced well, except Carson. Ricki wasn’t as good tonight. Loved JR. Loved David (of course, I love that song). Even liked Chaz.

JR was super. Much as I hate to say it, I think his samba might have been a bit better than the previous best male samba–Gilles Marini’s.

I thought Rob was impressive and I really like David’s rumba. I guess it was the men’s night.

Loved Len’s comment to Derek that he can’t be great every night. I could tell Derek was having trouble because he kept throwing in fancy moves and trying a bit too hard.

I think Nancy will be the next to go, but it could be Chaz. I just like Chaz’ attitude better.

I voted for Nancy. I think she’s really grown. Carson, on the other hand, is just jumping around at this point.

I actually think there may be yet another “surprise” dancer going home Tuesday, but I sure “HOPE” I’m wrong.

I think it was nice of Derek to leave the Roger Rabbit (?) move in place, even though it didn’t work. It was celebrating Rikki’s past. I thought the actual Fox Trot segments were danced beautifully.

I really was surprised that Nancy remembered a HS cheer routine and then busted out a few of the moves. She looked really good-- probably as good as she’s looked all season!

My favorite segment of the evening was when Lacy’s dad gave Chaz some pointers during their rehearsal. That guy can really move… not only for his size but also for his age!

Oh well, I think Hope wanted to go. She looked disappointed that she was staying. However, I think the right choice was made! ;)

I am going to miss Carson - he wasn’t the greatest dancer but he was so fun to watch and I will miss his comments! I am pretty ready for Hope to go… she has a little too much attitude for me. Chaz, Hope and Nancy should be the next three to go.

I’m going to miss Carson too. I’d much rather be entertained by him than watch Nancy Grace’s boring “dancing” with her crappy attitude, or Hope’s boyish “dancing” with her lousy attitude and zero chemistry with Maks. Chaz isn’t a good dancer either, but like Carson, he seems like he wants to be there and is trying to improve, he’s just very shy. Doesn’t really matter to me what order they go home in until the final three or four, who usually are the best dancers. Then it comes down to popularity. Personally I’ve been rooting for JR since the first show, but I’d be fine with Rikki too. And Derek is an excellent choreographer, which never hurts his partners.

I think Nancy has a good attitude, I just think that this is so out of her comfort zone that she feels really vulnerable and so shuts down a bit to shield herself. Hope’s attitude isn’t negative to me either. She is just so used to being a winner and donig everything perfectly that she’s beyond frustrated. The video of her last night backstage really made me feel for Maks and all the professional dancers, who not only have to choreograph a dance and teach it to a newbie but also have to manage all or their partner’s mental stuff.

If we’re talking dancing, then Chaz needs to be the next to go.

And I know it’s been said before, but I think JR is bringing out the best in Karina. She’s actually likeable this season. It’s nice to see HER growth.

Are they still looking for a star or someone who can dance? :)

Nancy is having problems because she always has to be in control and with dancing, you have to be the opposite. Remember Kate Gosselin–the only dance she really did well at was the one in which she let the walls down and just danced. If Nancy can’t let the walls down, then let’s put her out of her misery and let her go home.

JR was amazing this week!

I don’t think Nancy is dancing poorly at all. She’ll be 52 this month so obviously we can’t expect her to move like the young pros.

To each his own I guess. Donny Osmond was in his fifties and danced a thousand times better than Nancy. Jennifer Gray was 50, also was excellent. Marie Osmond was at least close to 50, did very well. So age? I can’t give Nancy a pass for being 52. But I guess if you’re a Nancy Grace fan (I clearly am not, on her own show or on DWTS) you would have a different opinion. I’ll stick with JR or Rikki.

I most assuredly am not a Nancy Grace fan, but I’ll give her props when I think she’s earned them.

Nancy has actually been dancing very well. Better than Hope actually, although not Ricki. Her footwork is very precise. But she is not a performer. It’s not just about doing the steps, it’s also about performing. That can often make up for some (not a lot of) shortcomings in technique (ie. Donny and Carson in the early weeks). I am not a Nancy Grace fan, but she has shown a different side on this show.

This show has always been a performance/personality/popularity contest. You just have to be a good enough dancer, not the best.

I think Hope may go before Chaz. I know Maks wanted Hope as a partner, but it proves the adage “Be careful what you wish for.”

I think everyone agrees that JR was excellent. People think that the samba is a "bouncy’ dance, but bouncing is really a sign of bad technique. It’s all about hip action and moving up and down by bending your knees, not jumping in the air. JR got that down.

Exactly, tango! I’d love to see Nancy let down the walls and really perform. I think Hope has the same issue also. Half way through the season–it’s got to happen soon!

Plus, neither seems to want to put themselves into the hands of their partners. Hello?? Who is the expert here? Whatever happened to the stars who would say, “You want it? I’ll bring it!”

Chaz and Rob K seem to be getting comfortable with performing, especially Chaz.

It may sound trite…but my respect level goes up a bit for EVERYONE brave enough to go on Dancing with the Stars. Sure, they make a certain amount of money, and it’s a popular show; but they put themselves out there in front of millions and millions of people. . . knowing they will be judged, and viewers can be full of ridicule and scorn. When I see some of the stuff these contestants are willing to do…well, I just love how “game” the show’s participants are. Especially the non-performers.

Sad to see Carson go… He is SO entertaining. They need to dump Brooke Burke and hire Carson in her place! Nancy is really trying hard, so props to her. Love to see her hubby and adorable twins in the audience every week. Hope and Maks seem to hate each other - I think they were sad they didn’t get kicked off! Ha. I like Chaz but think he needs to go soon.

I just think Carson is probably most gracious “star”. He was always so kind and positive! And yes, he is a pretty bad dancer, but compared with the attitude of other past bad dancers…I just loved him! He did exactly what he said he would do…try to entertain people!
