AMEN to that. Amen, amen, amen. I feel she brings nothing to the show and I liked the former female co-host a lot better.

I’m no longer a regular watcher, just dabble. But Carson was a joy, as he is - imo - pretty much whenever and wherever I see him.

I’m enjoying watching Chaz get more into it; I respect what Ricki Lake can do (she is amazing); I’ve warmed up a bit to Rob K. But… J. R. Martinez is my man.

Love Carson but I think he’d quickly get as annoying as Brooke but in another way.

One thing about ballroom dancing is that you have to let go, for the woman anyway, of being in control. For someone like Nancy or Hope, that’s probably the most difficult part. When you’re an “expert” in your own field, it’s really hard to surrender that persona to a teacher as completely as you have to on this show. By the same token, the hardest thing for Rob and David has been stepping up and taking control, and not letting the female pro lead you around the floor. Those who have done the best on the show are the ones who learned that quickly and let the pro do what needed to be done. As they say, “resistance is futile” if you want to do well.

I saw JR’s dance - he is really good. Does he have any dance training in his background? I also thought Ricki did very well. I watched Nancy’s dance and, while she executed some steps well, the in-between moments were kind of dead - there were times when she was just standing there.

I really appreciate people like Kristi Yamaguchi who were able to get over the shy thing and really let their hair down. Loved her attitude and work ethic!

I don’t think JR has any dance background (didn’t he join the military right out of HS? he didn’t have time), but Ricki reminded us this week that she started on Broadway so that’s kind of dance training.

Nancy Grace is smart, has a great work ethic, and possesses a competitive streak. But I think the ballroom venue walls have a higher likelihood of falling down than her own emotional walls.

I agree laxmom! I love Max but wonder if he is tiring of the show. I think the judges are correct with their comments but sometimes I think they could be a little less critical. I missed seeing Carson dance tonight… wish Brooke Burke would be quiet or go home - she is awful. I think Chaz needs to go next.

The only thing Ricki has ever done on Broadway was a one night benefit concert about ten years ago, so I’m not sure why she would say that she started on Broadway!

I agree about Brooke. She asks the dumbest questions!

I think at times the judges forget that the celebs are not real dancers. The dancers have been working very hard at this and sometimes the judges can be harsh on some and not others. I think Hope just doesn’t know what to do anymore and has lost any confidence she may have had. I still think Chaz should go!! Thought that since day 1.

I didn’t see Maks dance tonight, or hear his comments, but he is a primadonna and can’t stand him. It shouldn’t be about him, since he’s the guy who should help to highlight this partner’s attributes. And he’s the professional dancer.

What was David on tonight? He sounded completely stoned or drunk. He couldn’t put one sentence together. Too bad that I complain about him, since I thought he’s made good progress.

Rob Kardashian - stiff
JR - great dancer and loves being in the show
David Arquette - trying, but goofy
Chaz Bono - terrible, terrible dancer
Nancy Grace - competitor, unattractive
Ricki Lake - some good/some bad. Not a dancer
Hope Solo - not a dancer

I bet Hope and Maks get kicked off tomorrow night.

Agree Chaz should go. Then Hope. Then Nancy. Then Rob. Then David. And agree that Hope is beyond frustrated. Even Maks seemed to turn on her in rehearsals, though.

ETA: Maybe Rob, then Nancy. They’ve both made a lot of progress, but Rob has Cheryl and Nancy is dancing with a noob, which must be more difficult.

I think Maks is tired of the show. He almost didn’t come back this year. He has never been able to take the nasty criticism of his partner. He will fight back and then his temper gets the better of him. Frankly, I think Len has gone overboard in the nasty (not constructive) criticism this season. Carrie Ann’s is just inane most of the time, and of course, Bruno is over the top. I see no reason to continue to berate Hope. She is frustrated, Maks is frustrated, but I can’t see the point of the judges. I thought a lot of it was mean spirited.

JR was wonderful. I thought his quickstep was the best dance of the night. Then Len compares him to Helio but only gives him a 9. No way Ricki deserved a 29. And compared to the others, I thought Rob deserved a higher score and Nancy a lower one. I’m anxious to hear what my dance teacher thought of Nancy’s fox trot, but I thought it was awful, plodding and dull and drab.

I didn’t think Ricki deserved a 29 either, but I’m starting to feel biased against her. I just don’t like when the female stars wearing long dresses so that you can’t really see their footwork.

The longer the pros go, the more money they make, and unlike the celebs, this is their job. So while they do need to support the celebs, they have more incentive to win than the celebs.

Maks really deserves the nickname “Mad Maks” after tonight. All kidding aside, that was embarrassing to watch, disrespectful, and lacked any class whatsoever. (Sounds like another guy by the name of Mark Ballas). Give Maks the boot and bring back one of the past season’s male dancers. There are four good ones that come to mind:

Louis van Amstel
Dmitry Chaplin
Jonathan Roberts
or
Alec Mazo

I totally agreed with Len that tonight WAS Hope’s worst dance and, like he also said, the boots certainly did not help. They looked like boxer’s footwear. I didn’t find anything unusually cruel about Len’s comments tonight but I did find Bruno’s comment cruel when comparing Chaz to a “penguin”. Not the first time he’s so. I think some celebs are fair game for poking fun at, while others are not. I’m also tired of Bruno’s “theatrical performances” when commenting on each dance. And speaking of Chaz, where has his mom been? She doesn’t seem to be supporting him of late. I’d like to see Chaz go home next, but after that it’s kind of a “blur” between David, Hope, and Nancy.
