**Dartmouth 2014 Waitlist Thread**

@yadart

WOW. i’m using the computers at MD Anderson right now and I yelled a little when i saw your post. hopefully she speaks the truth!

Just called, friendly admissions lady said they were having a lot of problems with Gmail, so if thats your email provider, you should call admissions. They will resent the email to your account.

I’m still on the waitlist! And so very, very thankful, even if chances aren’t great.

Best of luck to all of you!

Oh that would explain it. I use Gmail.
Whats the number to call for admissions/is there any other info I need to tell them/they ask for?

@light: Really? how come we didn’t, then? And what did she say about your status?

i just called and im on the extended waiting list! yall should call if you didn’t get the email!

oh and the woman i spoke to said they’re probably not taking anyone off the waiting list, but they still don’t know yet.

Even I use Gmail btw.

And 314159, that goes completely against what yadart was told. What’s happening?! :S

extended waiting list. man, just accept me or reject me already -_-

Did you guys call or email?

I didn’t get to email or call because right after I posted I had to go on a little trip. I’m calling tomorrow.

But weird how one lady says “the people on the extended waitlist have a very good chance” and another says “yea … I wouldn’t give an ounce of hope if I were you.”

Makes me distrust admissions officers sometimes by the way they answer on the phone.

I would rank college admissions staff and airline gate attendants equally low on the truthfulness scale. My experience is you only get a straight answer from a student or temp working in the admissions office who has not been trained to spew the company line and lets the truth slip out inadvertently out when asked a question.

How many people do you think are on the extended waitlist?

The people who were cut off from the waitlist, on your Dartmouth like decision portal thing (that thing we went on wayyyyy back in April 1 to find decisions) is there a change? Like does it not work or it says you decided not to be on the waitlist?

Mine works but I don’t think even the admissions officers care about that portal thing anymore.

Mine works, but I haven’t gotten an email yet about my status on the waitlist. I use Gmail.

lol… its just weird… but guys take my word for it that i was told that we have a good chance.

does anyone know how big the cuts were?

I use Gmail and this was the last e-mail I got.

Dear XXXXX,

Three weeks ago we wrote to you regarding the status of our waiting list. Since then, we have been closely tracking the number of students who plan to enroll in the fall. At this point, our entering class is fully subscribed.

We appreciate your patience as we have been monitoring the replies to our initial offers of admission over the past several weeks. During this time, we have been sensitive to the large number of people who accepted places on our waiting list relative to the small number of places, if any, that may become available in our entering class. While it may be two more weeks or longer before we will know whether or not we will be able to make any further offers of admission, we would like to keep your candidacy active while we continue to monitor the entering class.

We hope you will remain on our waiting list.

Was there one that came after this?

I am just joining, but I have been following this topic from the very begining.

I emailed Dartmouth and they sent the missing email to me the next day. Guess that I am still on the waitlist!

For all of you who have not gotten an update email at the end of May - you should call or request it over the internet, NOW!

Seems like a LOT of people are on the extended waitlist.

I called in this morning and they said they’ll send the email to me… They never did lol. I hope it’s not a bad sign.
