**Dartmouth 2014 Waitlist Thread**

I didn’t get an email yet.

Those who didn’t get an email yet, do you use Hotmail or MSN? What email service do you use? Sometimes if a college sends a lot of emails out, some email providers don’t let it through their system.

Also, if they are sending out in waves … I don’t really understand why they didn’t just send them all yesterday afternoon. It’s not like there are THAT many emails compared to the ten thousand or more they send in the regular pool.

I use Gmail.

I’m still on. I do not use gmail, hotmail, or msn. good luck to everyone else.

I use Bellsouth and still have not gotten one

I use Gmail, and I have yet to get one yet.

If we didn’t get an email yet … what does it mean?

As much as I’d like to think it means we’re accepted as opposed to rejected or put on the extended waitlist, it’s probably not the case :(. I don’t think we can really infer too much from it, just that things really are getting sent out in waves. Clearly, it’s not like they sent out all of the rejections and THEN all of the waitlist extensions, since we’ve been seeing both received while many of us haven’t received anything at all.

The people who got emails … what states are you from?

My son got the version of the email that asks him to let them continue to dangle him in the wind. We’re in New York City.

Anyone from Massachusetts get their email yet?

I got an email and I’m in CT. It’s really strange a lot of people haven’t received one yet…why would it take Dartmouth so long to click send for another wave of applicants?

Has anyone from Florida heard anything yet?

Maybe it’s an alphabetical thing?

Maybe…do your last names start with any letter after L?

Mine starts with S, so no. Maybe it’s based on location/who your admissions officer is?

My last name is basically at the end of the alphabet. I didn’t get an email yet.

Maybe each regional admissions officer is supposed to decide who to get rid of, and some haven’t officially finished deciding yet. Meaning they’ll email back in the next few days? That’s another guess…

My last name starts with an M, and I’m from the Midwest.

I haven’t heard anything yet either, I’m from Georgia, my last name starts with a D, and they have my high school email address.

I think Xylem is right. I’m from Illinois and my last name is towards the end of the alphabet, but no email yet.
