Thanks! You’re doing great work. But I think we should take into account fin aid…
hmm, idk what to think. My guess would be our acceptance rates are higher than average, but this seems a little extreme.
ill try to get that info tomorrow when more people reply to my initial post about it.
That is only a sample of 23 people so extreme data wouldn’t be too unusual
this post^^^^
Okay just asked this A2C guy who got deferred ED. He said he had the dimensions message. Now it’s confusing.
was he full pay or fin aid?
I (domestic, full pay) also got deferred ED and have dimensions message.
Financial aid. He needs full aid apparently.
That makes sense. So we have a good correlation there. I still believe that the type of message correlates to acceptance, but we need to figure out which one. On Thursday, everyone please say what msg you had along with your result
so dimensions message is bad?
I don’t know. Trying to figure it out. I’m asking people who got in ED/rejected ED from my area now.
This might be my cope at work, but I don’t think there’s any evidence of that. I would expect people who are deferred ED to have a higher-than-average acceptance rate, so I don’t think that necessarily means Dimensions is bad.
Honestly, the we are excited message reads more like an accepted student, in my opinion.
I don’t think that’s a great metric. Both are obviously written for accepted students – in fact the dimensions message specifically mentions stopping by at the (dimensions) admitted students day. It’s just one is an error message and one is the correct message.
Hear me out: Yale sent an interview request this week, meaning it’s possible sole schools are still in committee. The Dartmouth portal message says that they’re in the final stages of the process (not necessarily finished), so it could be that it’s definite decision vs still in committee (explains all ED people having dimensions regardless of decision)
Late interview request is definitely good. Good chance of getting in!
Not to me lol
Who knows, you could get in! They are clearly interested in your app
Ok. From what I see, sources from 1 ED admit, 1 ED defer. Dimensions message shows up for ALL Ed students, regardless of status. So InkyB1 is correct, dimensions message means your decision has been made. Other message means it has not been made OR your fin aid package has not been finalized. Nothing to do with admissions outcome. We should track when it disappears for everoyone tho. Could be waves of accept/deny/WL
