Please post any updates here!
Do yall think they are gonna activate the waitlist this year? And also approximately how many applicants did they waitlist
Any news ?
none so far! I hope they havenât filled up their spots yet. I think last year they didnât take off anyone, so they sent out an email on the 5th notifying everyone. Really hope that email is not coming today
There was a tik tok from a college counselor say there was movement. But who knows how reliable that is.
I think he was capping. He said there were ppl who got off Cornell CAS without email weeks ago. But the first wave observed with screenshot proof was this Monday.
The whole thing doesnât make sense as if Cornell wants to fill up the slots, they would definitely email to notify ppl who are accepted to get them enroll
I didnât fact check the rest of what he said and I thought Dartmouth was a pretty bold claim considering what happened last year. If they really had already contacted everyone by this point last yearâŠhopefully there will be some movement then this year. It seems like a lot of people have gotten multiple acceptances to ivies this year.
Honestly, they should have contacted us by now if they are not planning to take off anyone from the wl. But last year they sent the wl closing email on a Friday, so it may also be this FridayâŠ
That seems rather late but still reasonable taking account for fafsa delay.
But hopefully they are still using their waitlist this yearâ:crossed_fingers:
Honestly doubt it sadly just based on the fact that a lot of colleges have already removed people from their waitlists but never say never i guess
Many colleges but not all. Some have moved their commit dates out to 5/15. And the most competitive havenât moved at all or have moved only a trickle. I wouldnât say itâs over yet.
Yes youâre probably right, that was just based on the fact that i got off barnards waitlist 2 days ago
If you do the math, DM accepted about 700 students ED and Questbridge. Their class size is 1200. So RD looks like they took 965 for a total of around 1665 acceptances. ED yied is 100 percent, RD in past is 67% so 2/3 of 965 is 644. 700 plus 644 is aready over 1200. I may be missing something but does not look promising for WL. Last year was 0.
Last yearâs overall yield was 67% inclusive of ED. ED yield probably wasnât exactly 100%, but for ease of calculation, if we assume that it was, the RD yield last year was 51% (~609 of 1197 RD admitted students).
Yup i called the admissions office today and they said they have no idea wether or not the wl will be used this year. I do think no matter what happens just getting on the waitlist was an accomplishment on its own considering this was one the most competitive years ever!
Have an update: Not my personal experience, a few days ago someone on another board said their âdaughterâs teammateâ was given a spot off the Dartmouth waitlist.
Oh ! Weird the admissions office couldnât confirm if the waitlist was going to be used or not when theyâre letting people off
Could that have something to do with a sports scholarship ?
Oh nođ looks like they already got a promising amount of enrollment
Did you hear something?
Nope, Iâm just writing that based off the person I replied to that said Dartmouth isnât sure if they will use the waitlist
