Ahhh… There is nothing like pre-sanctioned misbranding. If the powerful pumpkin lobby succeeded in forcing the FDA to recognize squashes as pumpkins, no wonder we are under a Great Pumpkin siege!
Ok, I just walked by a fence plastered with ads for a “Great Pumpkin Beer Fest.” Bleh.
Costco already has its yummy Madi Pantone cake in. I’ve bought 4 so far–1 as a gift, 1 for a party, ate 1/2 of one between H, me and a house guest and had him take it home on the plane. Of course, I had to buy another one for our home. Yum!
I am not buying other things yet for Christmas, but couldn’t resist. I also bought the Halloween pretzels at Costco for an event I had with lots of people.
Today I was listening to a Satellite Sisters podcast while traveling. One episode mentioned that on their FB page, some members of the group took the time to buy, try and review several “pumpkin spice” items. From Trader Joe’s Pumpkin JoJo’s to that pumpkin spiced ham - the videos are pretty entertaining to watch! If you want to find the FB posting go to the Satellite Sisters FB page and scroll down to an October 5 post.
I am not a pumpkin fan but I do buy my dog the pumpkin dog biscuits every fall from Trader Joe’s. I’m a sucker for all the seasonal dog biscuits. I’m sure the dogs don’t care.
I’m going to look for that pumpkin enzyme mask. I have a peter Roth pumpkin face mask I love.
We have chickens. We have a large pumpkin patch. Donated pumpkins to a local charity. Let the chickens into the area with the remaining, somewhat past prim,e pumpkins. Chicken eggs will take on the flavor of any food they eat in over abundance (yuk if it’s broccoli). I guess we will have Pumpkin Spice Free Range Eggs.
