Hello, children. I was just wondering, who is scared/nervous for the December SAT?

In general, is the December SAT known to be harder or easier than tests from other months, or does it not make a difference?

One more thing. Yesterday I took the free CollegeBoard practice test, but I realized I had already taken it 3+ months ago in the summer at Steve Kwon SAT. I got a 2240. Do you think this is completely unreliable, considering I had taken it months previously? Do you think I subconsiously remembered my old answers/mistakes? Funny thing, I compared my new answers to my old ones, and I got some of the same questions wrong. (I should study my old tests…) I went from 2070 to 2240. Do you think it is in NO WAY a good indicator of how well I’ll perform on Saturday’s test?

I have already taken 14 practice tests over the summer and took the Oct. SAT. I’m running out of practices, but I want to take one more because the one I told you about was the same test. Does anyone know where I can find a FREE practice test different from the one offered on collegeboard?

Just relax. The stress can actually affect chemicals in your brain and, to summarize a relatively complicated process, potentially compromise your physical health and your performance. At least, this is true as maintained by my biology text.
Additionally, some studies show that the confident test-taker performs better than the highly nervous test-taker.
Good luck! If this helps (and this helps me), remind yourselves that the SAT is merely a test. Try not to dwell on the fact that it is one of the most important tests that you will ever take. Only a test…

You’re right. And I’m not insanely nervous like some crazy people. It’s just, I want to score well. But I’m not a grade freak like some people =)

You took 14 practice tests over the summer, and you want to take ONE more. So tell me, how many practice tests do you have to take before you fall under the “Insanely nervous” category? 14 seems like a reasonable number, don’t you think?

there is something to be said about confidence. in october i was confident to the point of arrogance and got 2370. when i wake up on saturday i am gonna be so full of myself that my head won’t fit through the door to the testing room:)

and with every question i answer correctly i’ll whisper “**** you, collegeboard! i’m making a mockery out of your test!” under my breath

Haha ChoklitRain, I like how you put it. I assumed a similar attitude the last times that I took the SAT and ACT respectively, and the attitude change definitely helped my score cosiderably.

I’m pretty confident of a 2300+ score. I went to the library yesterday and took a full QAS in precise testing conditions (minus the experimental section), and got 800 CR, 800 W and 750 M. My math errors were dumb mistakes as well. I think I’m going to do fine.

I’m a junior and first time taker so I’m just shooting for anything about a 2000 with an above 770 writing.
I’m so nervous! Does it get easier after the first time?

Yesterday was the one-year anniversary of my dreaded test. Knowing that I had plenty of time to take another (as I was a junior), I remained relaxed through the test and ended up with a score beyond my expectations.

In other words, abkgirl: know that you have plenty of time to “redo” the SAT, and there won’t need to be a second time.
