Deciding to go ED.

So basically, there are five schools that I love.

I would be happy attending any of them. I desperately wanted to apply EA to all of them, but all of them only have ED. So I have to chose one of them. I don't know what I should do. I love the idea of applying ED to one, getting in, and just being happy, but it's such a tough choice.

I don't know what to do. Any advice? (specific school stuff, or just advice on how to decide?!) Thanks CC.

Unless you have one clear number one choice, I would not recommend doing ED

I just want to have it figured out, you know? Because hypothetically speaking, if I got into all five, I would have to choose one of them anyways, so I rather just know now, apply ED, pray I get in, and be DONE! College stuff is so stressful!

Do you prefer a LAC feel or a university feel?

LAC feel.
So no UPenn then?
Although I’ve seen UPenn and I loved it…

Yeah I probably wouldn’t choose Penn in that case. I don’t know much about the LACs but you might get more help here: [College Search & Selection - College Confidential](College Search & Selection - College Confidential Forums)

Since we’ve ruled out UPenn, I’d go with Pomona or Williams. Hamilton and Haverford are generally considered slightly inferior. They’re both excellent schools, just not quite as prestigious or well regard as Pomona and Williams. Of course, that may not matter to you, but if it does, even just a little bit, then I’d go for the bigger reaches of Pomona or Williams.

Between those two, do you have a strong aversion to the cold? Would you like to be near or far from your parents, and where are they? Any relatives in SoCal or Mass/New England? Are you okay to be in a very small, isolated area (Williams) or do you want to be closer to a big city and in a decent-sized town (Pomona). If you know what you want to major in, then check the course listings for each school and see which appeal more.

Of course, this is only if you’ve visited. If you haven’t visited, I highly recommend against ED.

I visited all of them, and I do live in SoCal, but I’m not worried about being far/close to my parents.

Do you think it would be harder to find a job coming from Haverford vs. other others?

Pomona V. Williams, I think I would rather go to Williams, although Williams is incredibly difficult to get into, and the admissions officer it didn’t help at all to ED there.

Sorry, now I’m just thinking and writing at the same time. Stressful. :/

I know it’s just random, but I’m kind of leaning towards Haverford for some reason…
