Decision date

I’m sorry if this has been asked before, but how likely is it that decisions will actually be released on April 1? I know that Stanford usually releases its decisions early. The only reason I ask is that I want to get my Stanford decision before HYP.

why do you want to get it before HYP? O_o (is it in order to feel better just in case worst case scenario occurs, if it does occur?)

usually, it is a little earlier than April 1st (a few days earlier). I know some people that received it a week earlier (with one of them receiving a “likely letter” 2 weeks prior)

Yes, that is precisely my reasoning. I want to get decisions in the order by how I much I want to go there. I’ve heard decisions are usually released the Friday before the announced date, but April 1 is a Friday, so …

if its like it was last year, we should receive responses on friday the 25th at night…

but thats just my guess.

“We expect decisions will be sent via email from Dean Richard Shaw on April 1 after 3pm (Pacific Time). Decisions will not be released over the phone.”
That was in the first e-mail I got from Stanford with the instructions for accessing the axess website.

They are always early. During REA, they did continue the trend of releasing decisions the Friday before the publicized date. I believe they will do so again… At least I hope they will… I was deferred.

I agree with kazala. Looking over the last two years (via [Admission News : Stanford University](http://www.stanford.edu/dept/uga/site/news/index.html)), you can tell that for at least those years the decision has been posted within a week prior to the officially announced release date. Plus that’s what my Mac OS X widget is counting down to.

@ Sleeet: you’re Mac OS X widget counts down for you? O:
thats awesome o_o

@jsungoh: well, I made it specifically for that purpose, so yeah. Lol. If you have Mac OS X I can send it to you.

@ Sleeet: unfortunately, I don’t have a Mac yet (going to get a Mac Pro during summer before I enter college). But that’s awesome (that feature) haha

i feel ya kimmy! i’m hoping for the friday before as well; much better if they’re spaced out.

^Eh I kinda want them all at once. Then assuming I get in somewhere it’ll lessen the blow, rather than just getting a lone rejection.

The wait is killing me!!! I just wanna know!!!

Seconded…

Mac pro? Sad…We future engineers and computer science majors don’t touch those.

Though I could be wrong, I believe he meant to say Mac Book Pro.

Hey, just dropping in to wish EVERYONE the best of luck in your admissions decisions. I will be in your position next year.

SURVIVE THE STANFORD SLAUGHTER…

Kind of survived it once (deferred SCEA) but once more into the breach…

… by the beach

Feel you Techie, NEVER buying a Mac ever, the only thing it has going for it is no viruses and that’s already starting to wear off. The PC age has only started :)
