Decision is in!!

if my application was fully recieved on 11/15, when do you guys think i’ll get my decision?

i really don’t see how they can come to that conclusion when their first ever year of ER hasn’t even been completed yet

deferred yesterday  OOS, 31 ACT, low-ish michigan gpa

argh…i wish they would just say something! i was all received by 10/08…i almost wish i would get a letter saying i am rejected …

33 ACT…but an unfortunate lowish gpa for umich…i guess they dont care about courseload as much as they let on…

cory123, mine was fully received on 11/12, and i got a decision last week

you should be coming up within the next batch or 2 id guess

ok, for all you doubters, this was her exact words “the earlier you apply, the better, bc that means more spots are available. Don’t worry about having too low of scores though, unless we think they are so low there is no way you can bring them up, still apply early, bc we usually only deny about 10% of those who apply before mid-november. the rest are either accepted or deferred, in which case their profile is again reviewed when all of the applications are received.”

Hooray in at NYU ED College of arts & science…

Hey you fellow deferees…check of Wisconsin Madison (my second choice) I have 6 relatives that are Michigan alum (neither of my folks though) and have been to Ann ARbor 5 times…but Madison blew me away…would have been plenty glad going if it weren’t for my NYU JOYYYYYY

Congrats to you, there’s a place for everyone and that place will appreciate you

hey im from nj and i send my application on 11/13/2007…any idea when i’ll get a decision? before the the 21st?

doubt it, prolly more like beg-jan

sorry i meant they processed it by the 11/13…

Yeah, 11/13 doesn’t qualify for early response, so you will probably hear back early to mid January.

Do you have specific examples where they have said this?

It is wrong, and I agree very misleading. But the literature states clearly that some students may simply hear that they are deferred to be considered later. Anyone who actually stated to you that that you’ll know if you’re in or not was incorrect, and I’m curious whether that was a Michigan staffer who made that error.

This is absolutely not true.

hoedown,
Thank you for giving us accurate info! Is it true they read high schools together? What about regions? And if you have special circumstances (illness), does that put you into a different group?

Hoedown - thank you for weighing in here. There seems to be an awful lot of inaccurate information being posted on this thread, and your accurate input is very helpful.

deferred:
32 ACT
3.65UW GPA
decent ECs, excellent rec
OOS (NJ…figures)

SubMachine, was this by letter? Had there been any link or information prior to this on Wolverine Access?

My son applied before 10/31 but transcript and guidance counselor rec is showing as in on 11/5 and teacher rec on 11/12 and there is still nothing for him.

Any other dancers (Nov audition) waiting to hear?

2forcollege: a regional counselor reads the regions, but they dont save them to read all at once. For example, I heard on nov. 8th, but know of others from my area who just heard last week. so they are read by regional counselors, but it is still rolling…that being said, that’s why accurate info is a must…they know the ins and outs of the area.

hoedown: correct, they guarantee a decision by the 21st, but deferral is a “decision” as well

deferred oos
1500/2250 (not superscored)
3.25 umich gpa
