They said they’ll contact you when an admissions decision becomes available, so I assume they’ll send you an email when we can check them online.

I’ve basically only been coming on this site and checking if there’s a new thread in big bold letters saying “DECISIONS ARE POSTED!!!1!1!!” or something like that.

^ Ha, same here! I am really anxious, even though I got accepted into my second choice (UMBC). People. just check once every two days and you’ll know if decisions have been posted (hopefully no one will play a prank… !)

Clicking the “Admitted” students link offers a page with “check your decision.” But, that only brings up an “inactive status” page.

ETA: Cancel that. In the time it took me to make this post, the yellow box now points to the “inactive” status page. The counselor page mistake has been corrected.

I see that inactive message. Remember someone’s neighbor who works in admissions said the decisions were going to go out today? So, maybe that was actually true. I guess we’ll find out.

The Check Your Admissions Decision Online page now says “This site is currently inactive. You will be able to check your decision and confirm your enrollment after freshman admission decisions have been mailed for the Fall 2010 semester. Please check here again at the end of January.”

I think this is a good sign! It probably means the decisions are in the mail, right?!

I know the waiting is hard, guys, but have patience. It will come soon. Assuming they haven’t changed it much from last year (I don’t think they have), if you’re admitted, this is what all you’ll see on the screen:

Congratulations, [name]!

You have been admitted to the University of Maryland for the Fall 2010 semester!

We are pleased to welcome you to our world-class research university. Your exceptional talents and achievements will enhance our academic community of scholars and leaders. You should be proud to call yourself a Terp!
