Hi imanicollege; absolutely my d got her application in for November 1, then her portfolio was in by the EA deadline of November 15. (architecture applicant) She interviewed with alum in our area in December. Sometime soon after that they sent us a letter saying teachers reco’s were missing. Ok, so I took care of those myself and I knew that they had been sent prior to 11/1, but I express mailed them out again. By this time I feared she’d be bumped out of EA into RD, and we accepted that. Since sometime in Jan, we have been expecting to hear. My slice indicates nothing is missing. And like you, this school has by now lost much of it’s luster, unless we are shocked by some exceptional EA. And they don’t expect that.

I heard that they are supposed to come every friday

@imanicollegehelp i applied in early October RD. Still waiting like majority of you.

@imanicollegehelp: haha yes that would be me! I started this thread a few months ago. I applied in late December and still have not heard back. It is my number one school (I applied to newhouse) and the more i dont hear back the more i want to go. I have already been accepted by UMD, Udel, Umiami, Rutgers(instate), TCNJ(instate), Northeastern, Uconn, and Penn state. It is just getting really frusturating, because there is no rhyme or reason to how or when they send them out. I have the stats to get in too, but the waiting is driving me crazy.

@imanicollege: My S applied in October and we are still waiting. Was told by an admissions counselor in Feb that his file was in order, but the wait is killing us. Only one other school we haven’t heard from and that was a safety, so SU is his first choice, providing merit aid is awarded. Uconn is #2, accepted there back in January, but FA packages not available until mid April, we’re told. This whole process is just sucking the life right out of me!

I still cannot believe I haven’t heard anything yet. Hopefully everyone who hasn’t heard yet is notified by this Friday.

My twins both accepted. They found out 1 week apart (One on 3/18 via snail mail and the other on 3/26 via email, but has not received official snail mail letter yet. One in at Health Sciences (found out first) and the other in education.

Hmmmmmmmm, It seemed to me that there wasn’t a second round-but if Frisco’s second child got an email the 26th than obviously there was! The great thing about CC is the fact that no matter what you’re going though…you’re never alone! Since many of you applied early, and seem VERY qualified, and (if like last year) they are upping their admission percentages to counteract the economy and cra*py financial aid packages…it does seem like no rhyme or reason…but I am optimistic. I know lots of you are in some great schools…but waiting for that last one…if it’s still in the running after hearing from EVERYWHERE else STINKS. It not only messes up that “where u going to college” thing; it also reeks havoc on housing and roommate selections at the schools that completed notifications months ago. And it can’t be good business for Syracuse? Good luck all!

I agree that there doesn’t seem to be any system to acceptances. It was a stressful week in my household to receive one acceptance in the mail and then an email acceptance one week later. Not fun doing the college thing with twins who applied to some of the same schools. Thank goodness a good ending with Syracuse as it is one of their top choices. Good luck everyone!

I’m freaking out over here. I applied to Bandier and there must be over 15 people who have already gotten in. The chances that I get in at this point are very slim, and I’m really nervous. I wish I knew about the program earlier
at this point I feel like I’m going to get rejected. It’d be nice if they sent out a rejection e-mail to everyone at once, because like imanicollegehelp said, this has a very negative impact on my college process [housing, roomates, and just the fact that I’m really close to graduation and I STILL don’t know where I’m going to end up because I haven’t heard from 'cuse]. If I just knew about getting rejected early, I could make deposits and figure out housing situations and share the joy of knowing where I am spending the next four years of my life with my friends! But even though I know my chances are slim I can’t settle on anywhere else until I hear from Syracuse lol! That .01% chance is killing me! ughhhh.

I know the odds of anyone knowing the answer to this question are low, but it can’t hurt to ask. Does anyone know how many people have been admitted to Bandier???

Everyone in my school has gotten in except me and now I am really worried

One of my twins also applied to Bandier, but got accepted to Syracuse into her second choice school which was the school of education. Interesting that they didn’t reject her, but gave her a choice so that she still was accepted to Syracuse.

That’s what I’ve been hearing! Many people who don’t get into Bandier get their second choice school! I dont think it always happens that way but from many posts I’ve read, usually if they don’t get into Bandier, they get into choice #2. If I don’t get into Bandier I’ll probably go elsewhere, because other schools that I’ve already gotten into offer my second choice and don’t cost as much. Cost is a big thing but if I got into Bandier I’ll do everything I have to in order to cough up 50k+

Just called up Syracuse and I was told that i can expect decision by the end of this week(my guess is friday)!! So nerivous!! Hope i can get into and visit there next month!

good luck to us on this end of the week!

Hopefully everyone hears on Friday. My daughter hasnt heard yet. Our school’s guidance counselor called the school and he was told that we would hear this week or the next. I really cant believe that. Out of 6 students who applied to Syracuse from my D’s HS, 1 was admitted, 1 deferred (to RD ?) and 4 havent heard yet. This response is similar to what Navna was told.

GWUdad: That is my point, I feel that by separating the decisions by batches, they are shooting themselves in the foot, because it makes us feel like we are not good enough for the school. While initially Syracuse was high on my list ever since I had visited, interviewed, etc, by now, it has lost its luster, and it won’t matter if I make it or not, honestly!

@carolmsn–your lucky to hear from UConn so early. My D applied EA back in October. Was deferred around Jan/Feb and we just found out YESTERDAY late March she was waitlisted… So we wait even more… And to boot, waitlisted kids won’t find out if they have a spot until mid to late May well after deposits are due for other schools. So now our single parent household has to cough up money for a school, she may or may not attend. Now the money we’d use to visit Syracuse if she gets in has to be used for a deposit to hold a space somewhere else, just in case. It’s quite frustrating to say the least. We visited UConn last September before she completed her app and it was all she could talk about. Now who knows where she’ll end up. She graduates in May and we may not know where she’s going. Go figure.

@Amazhon, so sorry to hear this. My son’s been waitlisted at Villanova and Marist, so know that feeling. I’m just discounting them already, as it makes the decision easier in the long run. Very frustrating indeed. Well, 3 more days until another “wave” of decisions from SU. Good luck to all who are still waiting to hear.

Ok… I don’t get this. I applied to Syracuse as I have been a fan of the school for a long time. i applied for Newhouse first choice, followed by whitman second choice, and Arts and Sciences third choice as a “safety” major of sorts. I take syracuse classes at school and get A’s in them!!! I am more than qualified for the Arts and Sciences school, yet I just got an email saying “we have put you on the waitlist for arts and sciences”. What?? I was way way way above the curve on naviance and take their classes now AND visited campus multiple times !!! I don’t understand this at all.
