You have been completing the process for the last 3-4 years? That is a lot of work. I hope the “applying to 55 schools to get merit” has worked out. Have you found your #1?
I’ve been researching and prepping since freshman year and got serious about it summer before Junior year. I started the process officially in March of last year and finished on 11/15/23.

When will you decide and give up your spot in the remaining 54 schools? I just don’t know how this works.

I’ve already given up my offers to most schools. I am chasing merit which means I’m trying to find somewhere that will give me high merit aid. I only have 7 active acceptances right now. The rest I have declined to give someone else a spot of the waitlist or something hopefully. I anticipate seriously chosing from 10 or so. I will probably start deciding for sure after I hear back from my last school which should happen mid March.

Best of luck. I have just been confused as I know you applied to places like UNC-CH and Clemson which really do not give merit?

Also, don’t worry if you don’t. You will be fine and try to enjoy life! We can never accurately predict what will happen. From a person much older…maybe wiser?
I applied here because it was one of my top 3 schools. I got in, but not pre-selected for business (which I needed). I might have gone here even with no merit
My cousin goes here so I was under a lot of pressure to apply from that part of the family. And I really do like the Clemson campus.

So is University of Florida your #1?
Yes, but the OOS tuition waiver I got from FSU makes it a strong contendor for #1 as well when it definently was not before.

You were accepted to UNC Chapel Hill, and FSU both OOS? Just curious what your class transcript is, you mentioned your 75th percentile of act/sat which is 1200’s. UNC is one of the most difficult admits OOS in the country.

Yep, although UNC was not with business which I wanted. I was shocked I got in though in general.
I don’t remember saying I was 75th but if I did, I was wrong and probably misunderstood what someone asked or something. I have 33 ACT/1460 SAT which I believe are both 99th percentile. But beyond that I have 3.94 UW, 4.4 weighted (highest possible at my school basically). 4/19 UW class rank.

I just want to say I am so sorry for your D. Mine was also crushed (high school class of '21) by both Clemson (waitlisted) and U of SC (deferred EA, then waitlisted RD). She ended up elsewhere and loves where she is. Wishing the same for your D!

Deferred and then waitlisted at Clemson…realistically, what are the odds of acceptance? Solid gpa (classmates accepted have higher ) but tons of ECs. Will have to obviously choose elsewhere for 5/1 and then will hear in June…but is it inevitably going to be a no or is there a shot?
I’d look at the Common Data Set from last year…I believe I posted it earlier but it’s on the website.
