Do you think we should have our dreams deferred indefinitely, satisified immediately, or just a balance between both spectrums?

deferred indefinitely.

watch the mice tread on wheels of unspoken ends.

A balance in between the two spectrums… Instant gratification simply doesn’t feel very rewarding, since their was were no difficulties inhibiting you, during the process. And having your dreams deferred indefinitely can demotivate you completely, which wouldn’t allow you to progress yourself in a sense.

deferred indefinately but not deferred infinitely.

What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over–
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

If they are deferred indefinitely, you don’t have a present. If they are satisfied immediately, you don’t have a future. Thus, balance is always the answer. :] But of course, it’s hard to find the right balance, and the right balance probably depends on each person.

But imagine your life’s goal achieved at age 50.
Really? Wouldn’t you just want to kill yourself knowing nothing will ever amount to that one moment?
