Deferred U Mich Ann Arbor Class of 2021

so no view decision links disappeared today?

And according to @UofMorMSU their percent taken off the waitlist is 0.9%. If waitlisted or rejected, I unfortunately won’t be able to go to my dream school (sniffs, pulls back a tear). If accepted, drinks on me. That is, caprisun.

Difficult to say on how many more admit letters will go out. Keep in mind, matriculation ratios also very by in-state v. out-of state students and for different schools within UMich (COE, Business, LSA, etc…). The first offers went out on about Dec-24, its now Mar-16 (just about 3 months in a 4 month window) with probably only 1 month or less remaining. Therefore, I would estimate 25% of the offer letters still haven’t been sent…maybe another 4,000??? Once again, this is an overly simplified model but puts it in perspective.

u mich has and is gonna break so many hearts ::((

@Seacoast - Yes COE (ChemE) at UWisc, Purdue, UIUC and U-MN. But UMich is preferred.

some decisions came out last friday so maybe tomorrow if the trend continues?

I literally want to cry. I can’t stop thinking about U of M every other second of the day like I need my decision and I need it now…

4,000 or more offer letters left seems like an awful lot. if that is the case, I’m assuming only about a quarter of them will be acceptances…brb crying

I’m not sure if this “diversion” will make any of you feel better, but if you think this is a “painful wait” just put it in perspective. More “painful waits” include:
1.) Sending your son off to war, getting a phone call he went MIA and waiting to hear if he is still alive or not…
2.) Your wife finding a lump in her breast and having to wait 24 hours for the oncologist to call back with results…
3.) Getting a phone call your daughter was in the World Trade Center building the morning of 9/11 and waiting for a phone call to hear from her…
4.) I could go on but you get the point… We have nothing to be upset about. So kick back, stay calm, giggle with some friends and enjoy the time we all still have left in HS.

While this wait may seem painful, I fall back onto words of wisdom from my parents. “Suck it up buttercup…it could be much worse!”

4,000 acceptances not just letter. And tbh, I would expect the number to be much higher. Maybe 10,000 to 11,000 acceptances sent already and the remaining 5,000 to 6,000 acceptances left. That is a huge chunk of change. But remember, that 5K is probably from 25,000 RD decisions.

@WIuMich, just because that there is someone who is happier doesn’t mean you can be happy. Just because someone has it worse doesn’t mean we can’t be emotionally distraught about a major milestone and decision that is upcoming in the next month.

Still waiting…just waiting

Any links disappear?

No

i feel like umich tracks how many times we check WA and the more you check it the longer they’ll make you wait to hear… lol

still nothing. i think april 1st will actually be the last batch but honestly I have no hope but i still check everyday what is this. i just want a final decision & an ending to this

Nothing tonight then I guess. We can only hope for next week

Anything?

Don’t lose hope! Your gpa may have been below umich average in high school but lots of college students transfer to umich. just do well in college and look at the transfer thread to see all the people who successfully transfered to michigan this year. michigan accepts a lot of transfer students.

Honestly U mich is so disorganised with their decisions…
