Deferred U Mich Ann Arbor Class of 2021

So who thinks this will be the week? First week of March? Good News? :D/ @-)

Who was the person who got in with act of 19?

Even if you do have low scores to make it up with great essays and amazing 4-year extra curriculars, or maybe connections somehow haha but i wasn’t the one who got in @NASA2014 haven’t been accepted yet we were just saying it’s possible in with get low(ish) scores.

@koomsbooms17 As long as the essays have substance and truly do offer a unique perspective as opposed to just saying “I’m a minority, let me in”, then that is not a problem. The initiative outlaws using an unchangable piece of an applicants identity, not the experiences they’ve had.

Yeah even if you wrote the greatest essays of all time, I doubt you would get in with a 19 ACT

@ALLCAPS24 they were probably a football player

@michiganb hahahahahahahaha

true lol

@UofMichigan1999 first email was interest back in october, then an email about an award, then a letter of continued interest after my deferral, then an update on my visit to AA and the tour, then another confirmation a/b first semester grades being received. wasn’t trying to sound like a dick before btw

When I went on Wolverine Access, I saw that they requested I submit my parents’ 2015 Tax Transcript. As my parents are divorced, do I need to submit just the custodial parent’s transcript or both custodial and non custodial?

This waiting is murdering me. I really wish they could tell us earlier. Because if I don’t get into here I’m going to another college which I need to arrange housing and apply for scholarships.

@Alex18Schultz me too…

Unfortunately, U-M is going to great efforts to game the system and up its rankings by deferring thousands of highly qualified applicants. Several people from my high school have been accepted with significantly lower stats. I have a 35 ACT, 4.0 unweighted, 7’APs scoring 5s, National Merit Finalist, and poetry published twice in different national publications.

My college counselor warned me beforehand that I would probably get accepted to more than one Ivies and several other top schools like Northwestern, Vanderbilt & U of Chicago, but NOT U-M because it plays games and if you have other top options it will pass on you. And in my case I had serious Michigan connections, relatives that llive there and my Mom grew up there and went to college there. I may eventually get accepted but U-M has left a bad taste in my mouth.

I already have acceptances to more than four schools and scholarship offers at three of them. U-M was a top choice but now, due to its actions, it is not a contender. Too bad U-M chose to game the system rather than reaching out to grab and compete for the academic stars, like most schools are doing. But, obviously, it feels that works for U-M. Great state school and choice if you live in MI. If not, you can do better. And If you are looking for selectivity and a school that is academically rigorous, you can do better, Much better!

@Ivywannabee Can everyone in this thread cut the humble bragging BS out?

This entire post was just made so you could brag about your stats. No one cares. Period. This post is more about how you’re gonna get into Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Yale, MIT, CalTech, and Brown, and less about Michigan’s deferral or release dates or speculation.

Also, I don’t blame Michigan for not wanting someone like you at their school, when you’re trash-talking it and pretty much calling it a bad school.

@UofMorMSU Preach.

@UofMorMSU preach. That grill or boi is worse than me

I forget if this has already been addressed or not but did Michigan use more than one response for the deferred letter (not the LOCI)? I know in years prior that there were up to 3 different letters.
I hate creating speculations but this has seemed to be quite a good prediction on the eventual decision the applicant will receive. If it has been addressed, can someone shoot me the link to the thread. I can’t find a good thread with concrete info.

Are we thinking Friday for the first march wave?

ProbAbly sometime this week @michiganea2021

Actually maybe next week around the 10th ish because it came out the second week of February in the middle of the week
