Hi I was recently deffered from the early action pool and am simply wondering what my new chances are going into the regular decision. I am in state and my stats are 1720 SAT 25 ACT 2.97 GPA ive been in a few honors and AP courses, I am also a four year member of several bands in the school system and have tons of other extra curriculars. My mid year grades were pretty consistent with my regular grades that i normally get. I was also wonderin around what time of the year I should get a respone. Your response is greatly appreciated if you choose to do so.

Hey Biggy…I think your GPA makes your acceptance to UMass a slight reach. The stats I’ve seen have an average GPA of 3.6, but the fact that you’ve taken “a few honor and AP classes” is a plus. I’m assuming your SAT Math and CR are around 600, which puts you in the high end of the middle 50%. Music is usually smiled upon by most admission offices. My guess is that it would be more of a reach for you to get into business or engineering, but I’ve got nothing to back that up statistically. Last year, it looks like people starting getting word during the beginning of March, but they trickled out slowly for some folks…I’d start looking in the mailbox and the email around the 15th. Some seemed to get notified first by mail, others by email, still others by the online system. Where else did you applly to?
Best of luck.
