I had a miscarriage and missed some clinicals , I was approved for medical leave , but denied readmission. Also in my 3 rd term of lpn I work hard to get there! I don’t understand how they could do this when I was having a whole MC , they were also very rude to me. Made me go all out my way with the doctor letter. I’m devastated with the loss of my pregnancy and now I can’t return to school is insane
I’m a bit confused. What were you studying?
Also if your screenname is your real name, I would suggest you change it asap. Here is how:
Are they saying you can’t return this semester or you can’t return ever? You may have missed too much time this semester to make up, so will have to repeat those classes next term.
Ask what they recommend you do.
I’m tried to reapply for next term and they denied it
What is this for?
Thank you & nursing
Did you withdraw for this term or just ask for a leave? Did you get grades for the term you missed.
I’m sorry for your pregnancy outcome.
Very sorry for your loss.
Did you work with the school to
formally withdraw? Do you have any payments in arrears?
If you left in good standing I would schedule a meeting with the Dean of Students and/or your advisor.
Thank you for all the feedback & condolences.
Yes I was approved for medical leave , but they denied reinstatement saying they think I need more time off , they said I should reapply. But what if they deny it again. I’m in good standing but I just miss some day due to my Mc. I have good grades i jst had to take a break because my health was affecting my attendance.
Then reapply…to continue in the fall?
You need a doctor to document that you are ready to return.
When you took medical leave, did the school wipe your grades clean or was it the start of a semester where that is not an issue?
Some schools say you have to reapply after being absent more than 2 weeks. But the main issue is documenting proof that you are able to return. They don’t want to waste a spot in case you are not healthy. it is unfair, I know, but LPN programs have a lot of people who want to do the program.
I would try to meet with a higher up, a dean at least. With a letter from your doctor. If you have to reapply, reapply asap. (See if their policy handbooks states that you have to reapply after a medical leave. If not, find a lawyer?)
