“With a DePaul potential transfer applicant who is applying ONLY as a back up in case they are cut from DePaul but may not transfer EVER to any school, the college cannot put a lot ot confidence in that the student may attend if accepted.”

I understand the concept of yield. But statistically, a first year DePaul student has a 50/50 chance that they will not be in the sophomore class at DePaul, meaning they have a 50% chance they will transfer, and this is not taking into account the fact that there are always students who don’t like their program and will WANT to transfer (making them have a higher chance of transferring to whatever hypothetical college) making the average transfer applicant from DePaul at whatever audition have a 50% or HIGHER chance of attending. probably puts them on pretty close ground to other applicants.

And in terms of the success rate of a DePaul transfer applicant at these auditions, it’s an audition like any other, you do what you need to do to be successful. You answer their questions the way you feel you need to.

Sorry, I have a program that allows me to send messages to full boxes until they are received. I did not know that the cc forum sends you a notification of each attempt to your regular email, or I would not have used my add-in to send. I haven’t (yet) received a message from you to that effect or would of course have stopped trying to send it

No problem—do not worry about answering. We are in a small town but have access to a wider geographic area. We should be able to find someone that hopefully will not require too much travel. I understand all too well, my husband and I are both in fields where we are constantly asked professional questions at parties, church events, you name it. It does get tiring.

Oops, did not make it clear that the above post was meant for soozie, sorry!

Skipsmom, just to be clear…after many of your attempted PMs, I sent you an email by clicking on your name and told you my email address and asked you to send it to me by email. Did you not get that? I guess you may have an old email registered here. But also after about 8 of your PM tries, I made room for one PM and yours come through, but i guess you did not realize that. So, I have your PM. I am not sure when I will get to it but would prefer to email you back, and NOT use PMs but now I am hesitant to do that since when I clicked on your member name and chose “send an email” to let you know that the PM box was full, it seems you never got that email.

If you want to give me your email, you can email me at SoozieVT which is on AOL.

Soozie—No, I haven’t gotten anything from you by pm on this forum or by email…which is odd because I’ve received a few messages today from early college and was notified about them to my regular email so I know both are operational.

Again, I appreciate it, but there is no need to reply. I really do understand the whole “busman’s holiday” problem… no worries.
