(for me they did, i wouldn’t be the college student i am now, no scratch that, i wouldn’t be the person i am now, without the influence of some forumers, from here and other forums).

btw books never did change my life. well sure there might’ve been small changes, like hey look, i learned a new word, but that’s not the kinds of changes people mean when they say something is going to ‘change your life’, they mean something bigger by that.

a lot of times i felt like the book had changed my life. but that lasted only a few days. then i totally moved on from it to other books or new things, and soon it was just a distant memory. there was no lasting impact, no “change” in my life.

compared to books and their dumb words, forumers and their TOTALLY AWESOME WORDS did manage to change my life like how the teachers said books were going to.

so in the end my life was changed for the better by the written word but just not by the manner they had told me it was going to be changed in. i still read books. but i don’t expect them to change my life.

<=== Yes.

I can’t think of any specific other people who have helped me a lot (though I’ve gotten a lot of good advice), but I think using Internet forums has improved my writing skills overall. Most of my thoughts come to me as images rather than words (as far as I can tell), so I’m not very good at translating my thoughts into words for other people and using Internet forums has made me better at it. It happens very gradually, though…like growing taller. You never notice it while it’s happening.

Well you of course!
