Did I do the right thing?

Yesterday I went on a date with a good friend of mine. I knew that she really likes me and I told her I liked her too but I didn’t know how much I did. So we went on this date and at the end I knew that it would never work. I told her that I didn’t feel there was a connection and that the best would probably be just friends.

She started crying and yelling at me that I was a heartless person. She told me to take her home and now she won’t text/call me back.

Did I do the right thing?

sounds like you went down pretty hard. judging from her reaction, you probably should have broken the news to her in a more sensitive way

Should have smacked her.

there was really no other way to handle that

give her a couple days to calm down and then try calling her

dont call her right away. if she doesnt calm down a little first, she’ll just scream at you

its not your fault. nor is it hers.

sugarcoat it a little

I think she’s overreacting… if she values your friendship then she’ll come around.

you can’t change the past so don’t dwell on it anymore lol. just try to be nice to her and apologize when you get the chance.

The way you broke it to her probably sounded a bit harsh but you can’t really do much about it now so just try to rebuild your platonic relationship with her.

Well if you truly knew it would never work then the end result would have been the same anyway, so I suppose you did the right thing.

But it seems she is on the more sensitive end of the spectrum, so perhaps you should have tried to find a better way to break it to her.
