already thought about deleting all imessages but there are conversations and photos I dont want to lose and havent downloaded all the pics yet.
It worked once today- then stopped. Odd…

Is iMessages much different from Verizon Messages+. Which one is used more on iPhone if Verizon is ther carrier?

iMessage uses data plan or wifi to communicate with other Apple devices. It does not come out of your texting allocation and is not being charged per message, like 5 cents someone would pay per SMS.

dont know. We have AT&T

I see your edit. Do not know that! Also ATT user here.

BB - How do people know the recipients use Apple devices?

I believe the phone automatically discerns if the phone # is an iphone or not

Yes, that is what I think, too. Not an Apple genius, so can’t tell anything about the precise mechanism how it works. :)

I just installed ios 8.0 on my 5s. Thumb print reading has improved greatly. As soon as I push the button, it’s done. I love that health feature, too. It’s measuring very step I take.

I wonder why the iphone6 is not as thick as the iPhone 5s. I might not upgrade then. I like the shape of the iPhone5s.

It probably fits better in the hand. I am guessing i6 has a wider screen. I wouldn’t worry about bending unless it’s more wide spread. So far only 9 phones had that problem. If you consider how many they sold i6’s, 9 does not even make a drop in the bucket.

I’m not worried about the bendable, I just stick in my purse’s pocket but I have to go get a new purse for iphone6 plus and then I don’t like the form so much. My daughter showed me her new i6 and I noticed it was thin. It’s not the same thickness as 5s.

Yes its thin. But so is the case I bought. Even with the case its still thinner than DH’s 5s.

Surely apple tested the bendability issue prior to release. Gotta wonder how long those 6 people were sitting with their phones in their pocket, or doing sit ups or whatever they were doing.

I do not see anything wrong with reporting the issue. I see guys put their phones in the back pockets all the time. The articles possibly prevented quite a few new cases of bendophonia, because people are now aware that it could happen and think about their actions. :)

According to Apple, they tested bendability in 5 ways,

I am in the process of downloading the IOS 8.0.2 update. Stay tuned…

Well how’s this for irony? It was almost finished with the download and then told me I didnt have enough battery power in it to complete the download!! LOL thats one of the problems!! So I am charging it and will retry.

Haha, the adventures of Jym in Apple’s Wonderland.

Just know that there is plenty of company in your misery. The upgrading is full of pitfalls and it almost requires endless luck to make it work the first time, People who use backups/restore are in for a trip to Golgotha. Unless one is entirely in the Apple ecosystem, it is actually better to use the new phone as the excuse to start entirely fresh. Fwiw, older iPhones could NOT be backed up on the Windows iTunes and thus not restored onto an IOS8 phone.

Trying to transfer albums that had “artwork” associated with the songs end up bricking the phone … before Oops.0.1.

On a serious note, I wonder if one of our research universities looking for the usual worthless research might evaluate the cost of the follies on IOS 8 on the entire economy of the US in terms of lost productivity. About everyone I know as lost considerable time between ordering and trying to make the darn thing work.

For some reason, buying an iPad does not create the same problems. The last 2-3 versions of the iPhone have been release disasters. No matter what the fanboys say!

So far I’ve had no trouble with either my upgrade or the 8.02 update. I love the fingerprint recognition because our company security makes us use a 6 digit code and it also accepts the fingerprint.

I got my Otter Box case, which is huge (as was my last Otter Box case) but I feel more secure with it.

Isn’t the bending problem just with the larger phone (the Plus)?

I can’t tell any difference with the upgrade. I dont want to use the finger thing because I want DH to be able to use the phone if need be.

Looks like if I try to do a group message with the same group I’ve done before it is going to default to the imessage. I really dont want to delete the chat history and photos. I really dont…
