Thanks, Bunsen. I only have 30 minutes to make it to the 10K, but with chip timing there is no problem starting it late. Basically, I’m running straight through for 15K.

I think Sabadog needs trail shoes and SuperFeet (or SuperPaws).

Hopefully you can grab an ice cream sandwich on the way.

Maybe Sabadog would prefer Hoka Pawnes for a cushy ride.

I’ll never forget the first time I tried those side to side toe touches. It didn’t look that hard… Then, I tried them. Fell off the ball, got back on, and could barely do one or two touches. Yeow. That is a major core stability challenge. Exercises that require stabiizing while doing something else are hard. In that case, you’ve got to stabilize the upper body in a push up posiiton, stabilize the leg on ball with abs and glutes, and move the other leg. Lot going on.

If you are doing OK with the dead bugs and roll ins, you are doing pretty darn well. Those are not easy.

Basement workout for me, tonight. Good solid workout. Progress on everything. Tried two sets of kettlebell cleans with Kettlebell, Jr. Pretty sad, really, but it’s a start.

Sabadog is in the doghouse. We’ve had so much wind and our side door wasn’t securely latched; it blew open and he was AWOL for an indeterminate length of time. He had an excellent adventure around the neighborhood! Happily he is microchipped and wears a tag with a toll free number to call if he’s off lead, so as he frolicked with a neighborhood dog, said neighbor called to report she had him. My workout tonight? Panicked running around the neighborhood!

Glad you found Sabadog! Dog lost at night would entirely FREAK me out!!!

Also glad sabadog got found!

I get my ice cream after both races. This event (fairly large- not zooish large- but large local…) is sponsored by our local dairy and has chocolate milk and ice cream post-race. I think I’ll wait until I’m completely finished!

MoWC, As always, happy running in your 15K combo tomorrow!

Stress for sabaray, joy of freedom for sabadog. I hope he isn’t encouraged to break loose more often as a result of his frolicking!

Sabadog was glad to see me when I retrieved him, happily. I think he thoroughly enjoyed his adventure. He must have heard he wasn’t going to get to run. Today I REALLY need to exercise. I really want to as well!

MOWC, can I just tell you how motivating you are?

Glad to hear you got Sabadog home safe and sound, Sabaray.

Good luck on the races tomorrow, MOWC. Yeah, I think I’d save the ice cream for after the running, too.

Today is going to be a rest day for me, but I don’t expect it to be a quiet one. As a matter of fact, I’ve got to get the proverbial ball rolling (just not the stability ball).

Glad to hear sabadog is back home from his excellent adventure!

To those new to running/walking (or even to those who are not…) - do you ever find yourself driving and have your eye catching areas where you now think “hey! that looks like it would be a fun place to run” - a path, a road, a riverwalk - whatever. I find myself doing this now.

Also find myself “checking out” anyone I see running by - their clothing, their running style, etc. (not a stalker, I promise!) I just like to notice how fast/slow they are, the kind of clothing they are wearing for the weather - those kinds of things.

It’s a whole new world. :)

Also want to brag a bit about my H - I know I mentioned this at least once before - he has been quite overweight for years and has for YEARS poo-poo’ed any of my suggestions to curb eating, exercise, etc. He joined WWatchers in November (without telling any of us - till January! Guess I’m oblivious…) and I just talked to him on his way to the fitness center after his Friday morning weigh in - 40 POUNDS GONE!!!

I’m really proud of him, but more importantly, he is BEAMING. I can tell his world is anew. It’s hard work, but he is in the groove. :)

abasket- that is amazing! Congrats to your H! I’ve known a few men who have been VERY successful at WW. I think it might offer just the right amount of structure but still lots of choices.

Thanks, sabaray. I don’t always feel that motivating or motivatED! This morning it was a struggle to get out for 2 miles (I told myself I would do a mile) and then I walked the dog since H is out of town. Chamber of Commerce morning in middle TN, though, after the storms yesterday. Sunny and 43 degrees- trees are blooming.

I think that spouses are a really tough area for many of us. It’s frustrating that you can’t influence someone close to you for the most part. My wife is fine weight-wise and does some regular exercise but I’d really like her to dial up her fitness level before 60 and I don’t think that she’s interested. She has had some problems related to lack of strength and she doesn’t see the connection.

It’s great that your husband lost a ton of weight.

My husband bought the Bodylastics for himself. I, of course, had to try the new toys. I bought the stability ball for myself. He took over the resistance band included in the box.

I bring home fitness books from the library to read myself but only see about half of them because the other half mysteriously disappear.

Fantastic. 40 pound party time!

That’s going to be a heck of a party! Awesome work, abasketH!

…:)
