Continuous plank rolls are really tough. That’s why I build a 15 second transition in between the various stages when I do my little TRX plank routine. Plus it’s really hard to do a smooth transition with my feet in the straps without going down to the floor.

I’ve done the 2 minute sequence (30 sec side plank, 30 sec plank, 30 sec side plank, 30 sec plank) non-stop on the floor. It is really hard. It’s cumulative!

Workout today: TRX rows, KB swings, TRX push-ups, mountain climbers, TRX squats, walk/run up and down stairs (2flight x 3), TRX planks, followed by 20 minutes on the elliptical. Just finished 2.6 mile walk with dog. I know the exact mileage because I just found out about a great website called Map My Run–I’m probably the only person who hasn’t heard of it. I like it a lot.

Doing a private yoga session tomorrow–Xmas gift from my youngest D. I go off and on with yoga. One problem, according to D is that I need to learn modifications because of my ankle–the one that has hardware in it has very little flexibility. After yoga, I am going to the World Series!!!

Did 4 miles after work yesterday at low heart rate. Very slow and it felt decent. Needed a break. 3 miles this morning not quite as slow (hillier so HR higher). Have after work commitments 3 nights this week, so mileage will be low again, but it needs to be. I need to recover before next week’s travel starts.

I think most of us on this thread knew sugar was this bad since we’ve had a lot of discussions about it with some excellent links to research. It’s still hard to avoid it- especially when it tastes so good!

So I was feeling pretty smug amidst all the talk of Halloween candy since I haven’t been tempted at ALL (which is to say- I hadn’t encountered any yet). I sashayed out of my office and was greeted by a co-worker’s bowl of Reese’s cups! Downed 3 in quick succession! (they weren’t the huge ones, but not the tiny ones, either). They were good, too. Will walk the other way.

I’d have a hard time saying no to Reese’s cups too. And Butterfingers, forget it. Those would be gone. I even like twizzlers and sour patch kids. I draw the line at smarties. I love candy.

iDad, belated wishes for safe travels and an enjoyable visit. Weather should be nice and the museums should be open! I like Founding Farms in DC and they just came out with a cookbook. Downloaded onto my iPad. Kind of relieved that it’s devoid of nutritional information. :D

Chocolate is good, PB is good, too! There are worse things than 3 PB cups. :)

My little personal victory: I was not tempted by the ice cream cooler last night! Not even when the people sitting around me were munching on chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches.

Igloo: that is a great article. Not meant to start a political discussion here, but I’ve been thinking that an extra tax on empty sugar calories (vs tax on medical devices) could raise enough funds to provide “free” insurance to us all!

Unfortunately I am happy to eat Halloween candy and drink wine. I did buy the candy today. If I stick to the one a day rule, and let dh take the bulk of the leftovers to the lab, we’ll probably be okay.
