Missed you Snowflake! Be careful- take your time building back up!

BB, every Lulu store I’ve been in has NO clearance- believe me, I’ve looked! I remember one , somewhere, that had like 5 items- that was it! Was in the Lulu Store in Ann Arbor yesterday but didn’t pull my credit card out. :)

*only SIL did not get anything because he is one of those folks who thinks if it did not come from REI, it is not wearable. *

Pretty much my philosophy, although I do make exceptions for Patagonia, Athleta and occasionally Baby & co. ( & Zappos)
Im back to working in my yard 8 hrs a day, but need to do more stretches.
I actually am out there for 10 hrs, but allow for dog walk breaks.
My avatar is a shot of the pup that was in the paper.
It was taken at a local dog swim event.

Was going to go swimming this morning, but D & her bf want us to have dim sum with his parents.
Not sure if it is just a get together or if there is an announcement?

Cool- let us know EK!! Love the doggie picture.

My lulu stores have a small sales rack and occasionally I’m lucky.

I was dreading my 6 mile run this morning because it is still hot and horribly humid. I really wanted the distance, though. I decided to really obey (well, allowing for the conditions) my HR monitor. I started walking breaks just before 3 miles when I felt my HR was climbing more than I wanted it to for me to finish comfortably. My normal MAF (low heart rate method) training HR is 135. I decided to modify it today so I wasn’t walking the whole way and I would run it up to 150 and then walk it back down to 140. I finished 6.5 miles comfortably that way. I had to get over the fact that my pace was very, very slow and just be glad I was able to complete the distance and not be miserable. I’m going to stick with this until the weather breaks a little and I get some more conditioning back.

Our Lulu stores “hide” sale items among the regular priced ones. I know how to spot them - by the bright Lulu logo sticker on the price tag. These are usually the colors and patterns that hit the stores 2-3 months ago. Saw a few runsies, too! :)

Great job MOWC! Sometimes it’s so hard to listen to our bodies. They should do what they want us to do :)

4.6 mile run Friday. 19 mile bike ride yesterday. Got half way and figured out I forgot my water bottle! Ugh! It was a rough ride back and I felt terrible afterwards.

Today is a rest day. Going to play 9 holes of golf and hope to play better than I did the last time I played ;).

Look at you deb922- taking advantage of that great summer weather up north! 4.6 and 19 are impressive numbers - but yes, remember the water bottle!!

USP grade manufactured under GMP conditions in the US are the keywords for me. The counter ion is much less important. However, I would abstain from any weird anions.

Sorry, “chelated” and “amino acid” are very wishy-washy terms. “Amino acid” does not mean “food”, “natural”
or “safe” - it simply means a compound that has an amino group and an acid group (usually a carboxy group), typically, but not necessarily, connected by a substituted methylene bridge. The rest of the molecule can be absolutely anything. FWIW, the active ingrent in Roundup is also amino acid!!!

I know I’ve lost all perspective when I actually CONSIDERED the $50 carbon fiber water bottle cage over the $7 aluminum version for my bike. The bike store salesperson almost convinced me that a 30 gram difference could be a difference maker .

Back to the basement after a few days off. Good solid workout. The warm up / stretching felt marvelous. I think I just need a week off from exercise once or twice a year. DB snatches and KB swings seemed to be the highlights.

Good morning!
Had fun on the boat supporting the Iron/Tri swimming section yesterday. Happily did not need to save a soul
(Good thing too since the combo of mcsn’s party the night before and the ungodly arrival time of 6 am left me virtually catatonic…)

My trainer-pal’s athletes made several trips to the podium. Good event all around, though brutally hot in late afternoon for the full-iron runners.

Of course, I am reporting that athletic triumphs of others because same are sorely lacking with yours truly, unless a medical massage for neck spasms counts as weight resistance…

Nice to hear the rest of you are getting on the court though, and that MomWC is behaving herself :)

ohiopublic, I had to laugh at your post. Let’s see, 2 cages at 30 gms savings each, … A stupendous 2 1/3 oz weight savings! And I bet that the carbon fiber cages were more aero too, for even greater speed efficiencies. I often have to laugh at the “weight weenies” I encounter in my club who agonize over every gram of component weight when in reality they would be far better off training more or losing 5 lbs of body weight. The only reason I would ever seriously consider carbon fiber cages is for the cosmetics of how they fit with the motif of the entire bike (it’s all about style, isn’t it?) and also, carbon fiber cages don’t bend or stretch over time from continued use thereby losing their ability to firmly grip the bottle, as can happen with cheap aluminum cages. I in fact replaced higher end aluminum cages ($15/cage) with carbon fiber for just this reason but would not have done so just for the weight savings.

I would have gotten the carbon fiber… (smiley face which I can’t seem to add from work)
In my new Reasonableness Approach (besides the fact that I’m tired and it’s hot) I just ran an easy mile this morning to get my day going instead of the 3 I had planned. I needed a rest day. I have a tough week this week work-wise with a lot of early mornings and evening activities.

Good news on the food front. I’ve lost 3 pounds, despite the Colorado vacation which included pizza 3 times (the cyclists like to hang out for pizza and beer after riding). I figured out what really helps me is to eat very small dinners. I have more trouble controlling my lunches, since I eat out at work and I’m REALLY hungry at lunch. Dinner I am not as hungry and I tend to eat more than I want to because H fixes it. He was gone last week and I barely ate dinner- munched on the CSA veggies and some cheese. I told him this morning that I needed to keep my dinners smaller. He’s fine with that.

Yeah, geezers with money - been there, done that. It is easy to sell us $150 shoes and aerodynamically styled $$$ clothing that claims to help to shave a few seconds off of the marathon PR, and those $50 carbon fiber water bottles! ;)

Gorgeous morning! I’m off to start my trek up the big hill. Had to go with high-performance (read high $$$) 1.5" heels by Tod’s. :)
