Thanks, MOfWC! Grandma’s sounds good. Sorry, Sabaray, I anticipate no travel will be happening for me in April. Sigh…

Have fun in Kona, MOWC. :)

Safe travels and best wishes for a healthy successful race for GF!!!

Ocean walk trail today (about 7 miles)–went with friends who were visiting for the weekend. After the walk, we went to brunch and ordered a Bloody Mary with Kimchee juice. For the main course, I had eggs over papusa (a thick, handmade Salvadorian tortilla stuffed queso). It was incredibly delicious and filled with carbs. Didn’t eat anything for the rest of the day–just an apple.

Enjoy Kona, MOWC. Good luck to GF.

Good luck to the girlfriend at Kona, how great it is for her to follow her dreams. 4 bikes though, boggles the mind!

BB, another marathon suggestion. The Bayshore in Traverse City, Michigan. It’s over Memorial Day weekend so May not June but I hear races over a long weekend are rare. From what I hear a good BQ race. Beautiful course along the lake. Small race, fills up quickly Redirecting...; Facebook page http://www.bayshoremarathon.org website

Kona, walks along the ocean…serious envy here! My 6 miles this morning resulted in my first-ever face plant. Well, first ever when I was running. Very glad I was wearing long pants but still have a nasty looking knee.

Ate WAY too many carbs over the weekend. Time to get back into the healthier eating mode. At least I didn’t have a twinkie.

I’ll second looking into that Traverse City race. Great place to spend a long weekend!

Oh no, Sabaray on the face plant?! Was that punishment for the carbs do you think???
I had my share of carbs too over the weekend- not bad on the quantity, but did eat too many carb based foods - pumpkin donut, 2 cupcakes (over the course of the weekend - 1/2 one night, 1/2 another…), skillet breakfast at home which included fried potatoes (and veggies and protein) and some thin crust pizza - but pizza none the less!

Rain expected this afternoon so have my gym bag with me at work.

Bayshore is a good one. I haven’t run it, but my daughter went to Interlochen for her last 2 years of high school, and I traveled up there a lot.

Sabaray- sorry you fell. That’s MY move!

Hi from Houston airport.

abasket, I was just bad all weekend. After the burger and beer, made spaghetti and meatballs for S. Of course I had to eat some too, even though I wasn’t hungry. Then Sunday, got a huge piece of pizza. Then I made tacos and of course I ate tortillas and rice on top of that! Scale was definitely up today so will need to think of some better menu items for this week.

We had beautiful weather this weekend - yesterday was nothing but a run for the dogs. They love going to the park.

Never fear, sabaray. I have the app for all of us!
<a href=“Popular New Exercise App Just Tells Users They Ran 5 Miles A Day No Matter What”>http://www.theonion.com/articles/popular-new-exercise-app-just-tells-users-they-ran,37096/

Haha - that’s a good one PG! 5 miles and I STILL have energy to go today! ;)

Speaking of energy. I read where a chocolate chip will produce energy to go 150 feet. So guess I need to pack ~100 to do my 5k
Would have to train to lift if i was to pack enough for a marathon= ~1000!

sabaray:

I hate faceplants. I’ve done four really good ones since I started walking, all that ended up with scrapes – one literally on my face! Two included turned ankles bad enough that I wasn’t sure how I’d hobble back. It’s so embarrassing! And, such a terrible feeling as it unfolds in slow motion. Hope you heal up fast.

I had a awkward slip on my last hike. Downhill, I stepped over a fallen tree with one leg. As I put my foot down on wet rock, it slipped out from under me. I ended up straddling the tree and trying to figure out how to get up!

My bike is in the shop getting its tire fixed and a tune up. I’m not happy with some of the gear shifting.

So I did a 5 mile power walk. It was good, but not as fun as biking.

Hope you get your bike back quickly, Nrdsb4!

iDad, no question that I felt like a total spaz. I’ve got skinned palms, a nice welt on my forehead and a beautiful scrape on my left knee that the dogs are very interested in. It’s also starting to stiffen up a bit. But hey! I have all my teeth!

Getting older isn’t for the faint of heart, I fear.

3.6 miles at the gym in the books - bye, bye cupcakes!!!

Sabaray, ouch!!! Hope you will heal like a dog (my gradnpa use to say that meaning fast and leaving no scars.

Heal quickly, Sabaray. Face plants aren’t fun. Did a gym workout today–45 minutes of cardio and some upper body work on a cable pulley machine.

Darn, that sounds painful Sabaray. Scrapes from those wipeouts hurt. Glad your teeth are okay :)

I had a very easy day–swung the kettlebell, did some squats, took a short walk, fought with the banana trees (their editing is nasty business).

Pilates from 6-7, then yoga 4:30-5:30 pm, came home and had dinner, then another yoga class 8:30-9:30. Note that a) I get my $ worth out of my Corepower membership and b) i get my cardio sidestepping doing actual cardio :-).
