Congratulations RMH and RMH’s hubby. Don’t be modest, you beat the poor guy didn’t you? Ran together the whole way and then you gave it a big kick at the finish and “chick’d” him at the tape!
Congratulations,Rockymtn. That is really great!
Thanks, Bunsen. I feel OK about it. I think my treadmill does give me some speed work.
Kudos, MomWC and rckymtn!
@broomfield and @abasket…I came across you both from a 2009 thread when I was googleresearching slate counter tops! Too funny! So ladies…how are those slate countertops holding up? I’m having a terrible time finding someone locally who works with slate, and at the home show was told all kinds of nonsense against, which I put in the category of "if I don’t sell it, you don’t want it
MoWC, that’s a great 5k time! I wish I could be that fast.
Rockymtn, great job on the half! Doesn’t it feel good to finish it?
Great results yesterday for everyone! Kudos to the Wild family! Congrats Rocky!
4 mile run, outside! Whoo hoo!
@kmcmom13, that’s funny. I actually never got mine. Still have the same icky counters - the kitchen has been pushed back for renos for the time being - some other projects bumped it! I would still be very interested in slate though!
One way or another, I’m running outside today too! May have to go to a local metropark to do it - but we’re gonna get it done! Melt ice, MELT!!!
4.5 miles today plus upper body weights & planks.
Well interesteddad, the guys at the finish line were encouraging me to do that but I didn’t and I guess H didn’t run ahead either. Yes, I did finish a millisecond earlier however. But I have to say I did do that chick’d thing this summer in a 10K when I encouraged my partner in crime H to run past the couple ahead of us in the last several feet. (I had to look up the term chick’d. ) Glad I did, because we would have been last, and I just could not come in last. Is there a couples thing, like team’d them? This race we were not even close to last, just saw the results.
WooHoo!!! Run outside! So happy!!!
Going to save a lot of fossil fuels by hiking at the Jack London’s farm today. The weather is gorgeous here in the wine country! Glad we drove all the way here from SFO instead of staying in the city.
I ran outside on my running path for the first time in about 3 weeks (on the path). It was 60 degrees and I could have worn shorts, but I just couldn’t wrap my head around that, so I wore capris and a thin long-sleeved shirt. My legs were SO tired when I started- I wasn’t sure I could even go very far. Somehow I did the 6 miles I planned and dropped the pace of every mile and turned it into a tempo run. It’s supposed to be rainy much of this week, so I’m glad I got outside. It felt SO nice to not be all bundled up.
Amen to that. ^^^ I probably could have got away with running capris but opted for my longer running “tights”. Tshirt and a North Face quarter zip and was pretty comfortable. After the weeks of cold, today’s 39 was like 69 to me!!!
I don’t know. MOWC is the official keeper of running lingo. I only know about “chick’d” and “geezer’d”…
The only people I ever pass on the hiking trails are lying down getting bandaged while waiting for the Rangers to bring crutches…
Congratulations on your races–RockyMT and MOWC. Taking a day off today.
To the basement. A tropical 55 degrees down there! Good solid workout that will not be recorded for posterity because I left the Garmin on the Airdyne with the backlight turned on overnight and killed the battery. Oh well…
Single leg deadlifts (oooh, my hammies)
TRX pushups
DB front squats
3 pt DB rows
iDad, you’re too funny… LOL
And, of course, I didn’t discover that the Garmin battery was dead until AFTER I had put the freezing cold heart rate monitor chest strap on my sensitive skin and jumped out of my chair…
I’m glad the midwest and east coast are finally seeing some warmer temperatures! Still no report from my friend about her marathon in MD. Fingers crossed.
The hike was very nice, perhaps too short - 3+ miles, including part of the trail going uphill to where the Londons dug up an artificial lake for irrigation of the farm. We did not venture further (short on time), but will make sure to come back and explore the other, longer trails.
Idad, at least you have PEOPLE to pass…on a good day with a tail wind I can draft the box turtle…but that’s about it
