Good for you Sabaray - Shopping is exhausting! NEED BBQ!!!
Just took a nice 3 mile walk. We are in for a couple of chillier days, but the sun was still out and today was a non-run day. Still can keep a decent walk clip - averaged 13.56 per mile. Admit it can be hard to âjust walkâ sometimes! I find myself jogging across street corners!
IDad, Northface is making new jackets in its Summit series are about 1/4 inch thick with waterproof but breathable shells that have kept me warm down into the teens with just a long sleeve knit shirt underneath. Iâm not sure what the materials are but the ability to trap and retain body heat is magical. The jackets cost $299 retail so itâs pricey. But for those looking for incredibly warm outerwear without the bulk, that permits ease of movement and is usable in precipitation, it may be worth it.
I bet this will keep the ladies warm. It looks stylish to me! And itâs 25% off!
At that price, you should want to smoke a cigarette after wearing it.
Moosejaw sells Moncler?! Oh my. Moncler coats are nice. Moncler coats bought off RealReal and Yoogis are even nicer!
Spent half a day walking around a Home Depot store⊠helping Mr. B with locating the right electrical thingies for the ovens. I swear I walked at least a mile! Sigh. Made corned beef on the stove top for dinner - it was a huge hit with the guests.
Bunsen, you probably DID walk a mile! My phone tracks my steps and grocery shopping is usually good for a mile
5.6 humid Florida miles. Now off to Sanibel.
Spent an hour on the elliptical yesterday. Today will be a rest day.
20 degrees. High teens tomorrow. Staying away from high bridges. Itâs March 22.
Got to trot around my old haunts yesterday. Good amount of walking. As KMC might say, a debauch when it comes to chowing on and purchasing a supply of sweets.
Am I the only one who thinks of flying squirrels looking at some of those fashions, btw?
Flying squirrels - YES!!!
We are all whining here about highs in the 30âs only for the next couple of days. Give midwesterners a 60 degree day and they never want to go back!!!

Todayâs Pickles cartoon. Thought it belonged here!
This could be me!!! I donât have a Fitbit but I get furious with myself if I forget to set my RunKeeper or log a workout or whatever! Thanks for sharing Thumper!
Free weights Friday night, what was supposed to be 1 1/2 hrs of indoor cycling yesterday but which was truncated to 50 minutes because I canât stand riding indoors anymore and then 2 1/2 hrs of glorious outdoor riding today with a high of 45 degrees and a windchill down into the low 30âs. But at least the pothole and frost heave strewn roads were clear of snow and ice :)!
A major weed war is my exercise for today! Lots of squats, toe reaches, farmers carries, etc.!
Love that, Thumper. We say, âIf it isnât logged on RunningAhead, it didnât hppen!â
Good job, Michael! Thought of you today when I saw bikers on Sanibel and Captiva.
You piqued my curiosity, but North Face seems to put all of their jackets in the âSummitâ series so I couldnât tell which was which.
In any case, I wouldnât pay $250 for a wind breaker type jacket. Very high end down or very high end waterproof/âbreathableâ would be the only candidates for that kind of pricing. But, from looking at he Oxygen+ jacket originally linked, itâs a high fashion brand. Nothing high tech about it.
Dreaded Airdyne AGAIN. I canât get the basement above 52 degrees as it continues to drop into the teens at night and 20s during the day. A fast five mile jaunt on the Airdyne got me huffinâ and puffin.
Left the backlight on the Garmin on AGAIN and the battery was dead. But, I figured out I could use it for the Airydyne ride while plugged into its charger, so all was good!
Perhaps we passed each other, MoWC. I was on Sanibel this morning at the farm market and St. Isobelâs, and in the afternoon I took a long walk on the Captiva beach It was just a tad cooler this afternoon than itâs been for a few days, but still lovely enough to sit and read a book on the gulf shore this afternoon.
Got plenty of exercise Friday. Did a first , ran to a Broadway show with H and D. The subway stopped for some police thing , got off and took a taxi that was stuck in gridlock, then D said âwell we need to runâ. 12 blocks later we made it. The funny part is coming from 5000 ft to sealevel it was pretty good, and there were 3 people in the line behind us running to it too. Strangely I had my Hokas on from the long walking that day. No one seemed to think the running was odd. 'Wicked 'was awesome.
