Tandem riding seems like ballroom dancing. Someone has to lead. That’s why my wife and I don’t dance and why we don’t own a tandem!
Lol! We dance ok, but I’m not sure I can survive a tandem ride with Mr.!
5 miles this morning. Lovely!
The half marathon yesterday was great! I managed to set a PR at 1:49:23 and am really happy about that. It is faster than I had expected to be able to do. I wasn’t sure towards the end that I’d be able to PR but I was able to beat my November half PR by a whopping 9 seconds! I ended up in 21st place of 1001 in my division so I’m happy about that also. This is a huge race, over 22,000 entries and it was a great event. H also did really well and had a PR, he was 17 seconds behind me. I only beat him because he got water near the end but I didn’t. He’s probably smarter than I am as it was very sunny and warm.
We are starting a major deck/patio renovation project and so I have an exciting day planned of shoveling rock. It’s good exercise and a major workout for the arms/shoulders/back while shoveling and also the legs hauling the wheelbarrow back and forth. It’s a beautiful day and I am happy to be outside.
Gertrude-congrats on your 5K yesterday! Running in a race with all the excitement and festive atmosphere is just great. And good luck on the 5K to 10K program!
Back to the rocks! Enjoy the day!
C3Baker, kudos!!!
Great time C3Baker! Congratulations!
Nice job, C3Baker!
Started the day with a vigorous dog walk, then informed Mr. Sabaray we were going to the gym this morning even though it was a nice day out. 30 minutes of elliptical to work on my hamstrings/glutes and some stretching afterwards. A trip to the park with my four legged friends is next on the agenda.
Am I the only one spending hours doing yard work??!!!
Getting a start on my summer tan I guess.
DH cut the grass in the front this afternoon. That must count for something!
Kudos to those who ran the Pig or half-pig today!
Congratulations, C3!
Third consecutive day of hilly walk around the neighborhood. I think I’ve been craving warmth and fresh air… Went down to the basement to sling some weights around. It was 56 down there. 75 outside. Had to go outside…
Even sweated enough to make the heart rate monitor work…
Yardwork, and getting the grill ready.
Gonna be a protein heavy meal tonight, grilled steak and asparagus.
Walked a couple miles w a girlfriend this morning (we exercised our jaw muscles) … 2 hr bike ride w H … And now waiting for the yoga studio to open!
Got in 150 miles of riding this week. Shorter rides after work on Tuesday and Thursday, long rides over the weekend. Can feel my legs coming back. Only a month until my 4 day hill infested ride for Habitat for Humanity. Still have a lot of training ahead of me to be ready for 4 x 65 of hills! Need some back to back 65 milers on local roads. After my ride today, met with a contractor about building my adult playground. Would like to have it completed by Father’s Day. Then I can tell everyone who comes to our annual FD bbq that they have to do a circuit for each cheeseburger they eat :). My wife is so tolerant of my lunacy lol!
Congrats to all the runners who completed their events. Great way to start the new outdoor season!
Congratulations to all the runners! Did some clean-up work in the garden, but that was it. I spent the afternoon reading on my deck. I’m really enjoying the warmer weather.
Yay runners! I’m not currently running but 2016 is going to be the year of getting to a 10k. I have one in mind already.
Spent the weekend in a beautiful city in Texas looking for short term housing for D2 for her summer internship, so I didn’t do any riding or other fitness activities. After riding most days last week, I actually enjoyed the break. Did okay on diet, even managed to avoid temptation at a fabulous family owned Tex Mex restaurant. We were starving when we got there and DH went all in, having an awesome Mexican dinner. I got Carne Asada, which is a very thin, tender steak. Instead of refried beans and rice, I asked for salad, and they made me a nice salad with fresh prepared guacamole on top, and instead of dressing, I used their warm homemade salsa, which was probably the best I’ve ever had. No alcohol, so I did alright.
Yum!
I’m having leftover BBQ chicken breasts, home made middle-Georgia BBQ sauce, and Dolly Parton’s Papa’s Cole Slaw…
I just endured the move from hell, moving WildChild and girlfriend and 10 bicycles plus about 6 TVs, treadmill etc out of a high rise to the Poconos. We had great movers, but it was just exhausting.
Did run 4.6 miles for a 34 week before the fun started.
Missing PlantMom…are you out there anywhere!!!
MOWC, only 10 bikes? For 2 people, they are 4 short. It’s well established that ownership of 7 bikes per person is critical for Karmic harmony. If either of them needs any suggestions for additional acquisitions, I’m available ;).
