Diet/Exercise/Health/Wellness Support Thread

Thinking of you MOWC! So sorry you have to miss your reunion.

Thoughts are with you, MOWC. Agree with your team, don’t mess with your eyes.

Sending healing mojo to MomWC!

I’ve been Mia b/c I’m helping mods on another forum but they’ve been eating my am exercise time…today, I decided do hill first, then aquajog, THEN help forum

Full mosquito/tick regalia required now on hill…face net, tillie hat, long socks, light long sleeved smock and more Natrapel than I care to wear…hill hiking is decidedly far LESS sexy than running in a nu-mu  hi ho!

Sending all positive thoughts and vibes your way, MOWC. Don’t know much about detached retinas, but would have thought some sort of injury to the eye would be involved.

Kudos to those making doctor appointments, getting good numbers, etc.

Walked 18 holes yesterday, and played a semi-decent round of golf. My Fitbit Charge HR finally arrived – so far, so good.

We’re having a lunch guest today, so I was out running quite early – 4.65 miles done. Now it’s on to finishing the vacuuming, which is a never-ending battle with all the stuff the dog tracks in. (Good thing she’s cute!)
Then 9 holes of golf this evening. It’s a gorgeous sunny day here.

The guys walking at Chambers Bay this week look like they are going to get a workout. 7+ miles and 500 feet of elevation gain in 18 holes. Then I started thinking about that compared to the mountains and I’m not feeling quite as much sympathy. Would be a awesome place to go walking/joggging in the Takhoma area though.

MOWC-so sorry to hear about your emergency eye surgery. Thoughts and prayers are with you today!

@MomofWildChild, yikes!

Good luck and take care of yourself. Vision is precious.

After reading that, I won’t even dream of complaining about Tropical Storm Bill!

Thanks, everyone. I could only manage 1.2 miles this morning with all the trauma of yesterday. I guess the streak ends at 243 days.

Detached retina can be very genetic and my grandmother had it in both eyes. Back then they couldn’t fix it- you just lost your vision.

Visual problems can be very frightening - I understand your anxiety. It sounds like you are in very good hands - please try and be a good patient. You know we’re all sending hugs, prayers and good mojo your way.

I don’t anticipate Chambers Bay being much harder than Whistling Straits, but we’ll see. The USGA has its problems, God knows, but they are doing a better job of representing the variety of American golf.

Rest up so You will be back to cheer for your baseball team momofwildchild.

Oh my, MoWC. Good luck with the surgery.

@MOWC Sending you healing mojo. Stay calm! You’ll be back out on the road in no time.

Hoping the surgery goes well, MoWC!

Hope it is over… Kept my fingers crossed.

Thinking the same thing BB - hope you are on the recovery/recovering side now MOWC!

I survived! Went well. Doc was not amused when I asked if I could run 1 slow mile tomorrow. I opted for the eye block with happy meds in the IV and no general anesthesia, so I feel fine. Starving! Have to look down and not straight or up for now. Thanks for all your support.

Nurse said my tattoos eliminate my right to be afraid of the IV!

“Nurse said my tattoos eliminate my right to be afraid of the IV!”

Lol!!! Even though I survived skydiving and liked it, I’m still terrified of heights.

Please be careful and follow post-op instructions religiously. Speedy recovery!

MOWC, so sorry. Detached retinas are nothing to ignore. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

glad you did well, MOWC. The streak will begin again !

You’re hungry! That’s a good sign…

Rest and enjoy the silver lining that the surgery went well.
