Whoa! What did I land on coming back into this thread after a couple of days! Lady stripper/runners!!!

Shirtless Saturday? Is it a thing? I’m in.
Nice 85 degree sunny day, so I did my usual 5K hilly neighborhood walk. A bunch of sustained hills that are good exercise. I listened to part of a set from the Grateful Dead Fare Thee Well concerts last week. Excellent walking music, because the songs never end.
Kitchen cabinets delivered today. Install next week and that will be the end of the ice dam from hell.
Yay, iDad. Winter woes are over for you!
There was an article in the Glob this week that the last snow pile in one of the Boston snow farms is now down to only 12’. Apparently at the end of winter it was 75’ high…
I think the odds are good it will be completely gone before it starts snowing again.
Our work-sponsored Zumba class yesterday was a ton of fun. I was pretty bad at some of the footwork, but had a great time. You can’t help but smile while you do it!
Survived my “long” (6.2) run- barely. It was 74-80 degrees while I ran and I started at about 6:40am. I had quite a bit of shade, but it was still brutal. I went shirtless, which I really do like. No one stared. By mile 4 my heart rate was way too high- even at a very slow pace. I wonder if the Forteo is affecting me? It just felt really hard, but I’m glad to be back out there and glad I got it done. I wore my glasses, and that worked out fine. I still can’t wait to be able to wear my contacts (and sunglasses), but I’m not complaining.
Went to Sonic for a large iced tea afterwards and then to Dunkin for 2 donuts.
Just finishing my breakfast (protein flapjacks) and getting ready to head out to the beer trail. I cannot believe I’m waiting for the air to warm up a bit - it is only 65 right now.
MOfWC - wow. Running 6 miles in 80 degree weather, on Forteo, after a 2 week hiatus… you are one Iron Lady.
I had a good morning - walked the dogs, went to a reformer class, then hit the treadmill for 5.3 miles. Wore the Bunsen recommended ankle brace and was fine. Ran very slowly but I was tired from the class. Happily for everyone, I wore my shirt.
I was right behind MOWC at the donut store this morning…
However, did buy 6 for 5 of us and there is still one left so…when I bring them home I cut them in pieces - then I can try a couple without eating a lot of quantity.
Of course, if the donuts don’t MAKE IT HOME to the knife…
Hey, going to throw this in the middle of this thread because if I start a new thread, it will probably get axed.
Were others not able to get into this board on Thursday at all??? I mean, the message that came up was like the board was CLOSED! All day. And many things still seem wonky. I didn’t see another thread about it when I got back on for the first time late last night. Just wondering…
I had that issue as well, abasket. I couldn’t get into anything on my home computer, but could at work. Then I could on my iphone but not my ipad. Very strange.
CC did crap out on me on Thursday a few times, but I was able to post a few things.
It was nice and cool in the trail! What a difference 10 degrees and no sun make! There was some major parade going on in MSFT city - 75 years? - but I did not want to stop to check it out. The flip side of that was that the trail was relatively empty. I did run in my new “chicken” shorts and a stuff your bra bra! I did not see any dead bodies carried off the trail, so apparently no one died of shock after seeing my nekkid midriff (Brandy Cahstain I am not!)! 14 miles, 1 hr 54 min 42 seconds - I think that works out as 8:15 pace or so. Done for the day. Tried to convince Mr. that it would be a perfect day to go wine tasting in Eastern WA, but he does not think so. Bummer!
Great, sabaray!
My donuts did not make it out of the Dunkin parking lot, I’m sad to say… Part of that was because I chose to not buy donut holes for the dog (H already got him some this week) and I couldn’t go home with my own donuts since I didn’t have anything for the doggie.
There was a hardware upgrade on Wednesday which might have led to problems for some people.
Depending on what they did, you might have had stuff cached in your browser which caused you to have access problems or other weird errors. Eventually that stuff all times out and things start working again.
I didn’t have any trouble getting on CC this week. Wonder what was going on?
Great run, Bunsen! Glad you did the #noshirtsummer thing!
Thanks, MOfWC! When I just started my run, I felt horrible. Could not breathe, and my legs felt like they were made of lead. After 3 miles, I felt much better and more confident, and by 7 miles, I was zooming along! My second half of the run was faster than the first - go figure. I wore Garmin today, because counting mile posts have become impossible - there are now 3 (!) different kind: the old wooden half-mile posts that are all off, the plastic km markers, and the new mile markers that are spot on but for some reason placed only every 2-3 miles.
Wow, typos galore in my previous post!
15 mile bike ride and it was terrible. Awful lactic acid in my legs. I’ve been playing lots of golf instead of running and biking and I could tell. At least I did it, that’s the only good thing I can say about that ride.
Saw a women around our age biking in bike shorts and bra and of course thought of all of you. I wore a bike shirt because where would I put my phone and keys? Also I think I might have 20 different tan lines.
I am SO happy you saw no dead bodies being carried off the trail - LOL x 2!!!
That’s a long run BB - and amazing pace!
I can’t do it guys - I have some good bras but just don’t think I can imagine the girls hitting the streets with no top cover…but more power to ya!
Planning a twilight run tonight - one of my most favorite times!!!
I ran in Dsllas for 28 years and we never wore shirts in hot weather unless we had to wear a team uniform. I continued that when I moved to Tennessee until someone I know wrote a blog entry about women of a certain age needing to cover up more. It probably wasn’t aimed at me, but I got self conscious after that and the tech singlets aren’t bad, really. I just really prefer the sports bra only for hot weather.
