Yeah, if I could find a pair of Brooks pureflow in a mens 6, I’d give them a try. I’ve looked on the Brooks website, and I don’t think they make anything smaller than a mens 7.

6000 steps pushing the lawnmower around in the 90 degree heat.

No #noshirtsummer for me, I would get eaten alive by the bugs.

Bromfield, glad your D is home. Lily sounds like my two - we spend quite a bit of time socializing.

Two big dog walks today, an hour on the elliptical. Nice morning has turned into a muggy afternoon.

We got a bumper crop of ripe tomatoes & peppers this weekend in my garden. Planning some pasta with fresh tomato sauce and basil for dinner, and a big salad to add the peppers to.

Sounds delicious Gertrude!

Happy your D is home Bromfield - good parent taking the pup for a walk!!

Nice to see you North Minn - you have been missed!!

For a women’s size 7 shoe look at boys sizes. A 5 boys will be a women’s 7.

I’m a size 6 in street shoes, 7 or 7.5 in running shoes. I will wear a 4 in kids. I know when uggs were popular, they were much cheaper!

Anyone have oofos sandals? They look really comfortable.

Added some cross training to my exercise routine: whole house vacuuming and weed pulling.

Bromfield, hope your daughter gets well soon.

That’s interesting deb22. I wonder if a kids shoe would be wide enough.

I have several pairs of Oofos and the clogs. They are fabulous. The only problem is that the sole is very flexible and sometimes it turns under on me in the front. They are great for post-run.

MOfWC, could you please give us the latest scoop on the gels? I took a look at my “collection” and gaged in anticipation of having to eat that disgusting stuff. :-&

Huma seems to be the favorite in my world. They taste good and gave a good consistency- more like apple sauce. As for bars, Picky Bars are the best. I always have one in my purse and office.

Thanks, MOfWC, much appreciated! Ordered some mango Huma gels. I was quite surprised that I was able to last 14 miles with only half a bottle of diluted GuBrew. Ugh… Just the thought about eating that sickening sweet stuff makes me nauseous. Figuring out fuel is the trickiest part of running a marathon, IMO. Looking forward to my new gels!

Late last night, Mr. turned on the TV, and we watched the Ninja Warrior competition. Not that I would ever attempt to do even .0001% of what these guys do, but I felt the motivation to grab my weights and do something.

My son-in-law was watching that show too, BB. Felt the same motivation to get and lift some weights!

Another 3-mile walk with my kids’ dog today–did a few lunges and squats and push-ups. Afterward, I did some body weight exercises (lunges, squats, planks, and push-up).

Had a very busy weekend with a family wedding. It was so much fun having our kids and their SOs home for the weekend. I did get up very early one morning and got a 10 mile run in so I am staying on track with my marathon training plan. More thunderstorms today so I am crossing my fingers that there will be a break in the weather after work. If not, I will have to go to the gym and use the treadmill.

BB-wow, a 14 mile run at 8:15 pace is really impressive. I have a few more weeks before I get to a 14 mile run. I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to do that pace.

MOWC-you sure got a lot of miles in for just coming back from your eye surgery. Wow!

The Vol State 500K (314 miles) has a winner (no crew) in just under 4 days (3 days 23 hours). Can you even imagine? A runner with a crew beat him in, but I forget the time. It is just deathly hot. A couple of my friends (an older couple) got out the door at 2am today and stopped for the daytime a little while ago and will go back out tonight.
My friend Dallas is plugging away. Haven’t had a report today, but he was at 145 miles (I think ) after day 4 yesterday.

That is unreal. Wow.

I cannot imagine, don’t want to imagine how you do that, why you do that…hope they all come away from the 500K safe and in decent shape!

Spent part of the evening on a ladder with power tools trimming bushes and then raking, bagging, hauling the contents - 3 massive bags stuffed full! Wanted the option of NOT exercising tomorrow night, so even though I was tired and sweaty - or because I was already tired and sweaty - ran a couple miles to top the night off!

Kudos, abasket!!

I too did not want to run tonight. Did. Not. Want!!! I thought walking to the bus stop would help to get rid of the splitting headache I got in the second half of the day, but it just got worse. Got home, took 2 Advils, rested for half an hour. Got up, put my uniform on, hopped on the treadmill and crawled 4 miles while watching the Ninja Warrior. Done!

Made salads for dinner with leftover steak. Yumm…

I ran 5.1 miles last night and it was really tough. Very hot, humid, and sunny. Got it done and planning to do it again tonight.

The 500K race sounds just insane. Good luck to MOWC’s friend. I can’t even imagine.

abasket - great job with the trimming. That is really hard work up on the ladder and then the clean-up is a lot of work too. And to run afterwards - wow, you were really on a roll!

500K - please don’t tell my son. If there’s a lunatic race out there he seems drawn like a…whatever the metaphor is! I’ve been keeping up with moving (mostly walking rather than running) at least 3 miles/day (on my way to the 10,000 steps - haven’t been able to see those 3 miles as a separate goal yet). Toward the end of the C25K program I started to get some hip pain that seems exacerbated by running. So, I decided to roll it back a bit and focus on moving, one way or another. Also added weights at least 3x a week, so though the scale seems permanently stuck on a number greater than the one I’m happy with, I feel much fitter and have received compliments on the definition in my legs from my H. Who knew he was still looking
