A fire walk is walking on burning hot embers! Called a firewalk. Tony Robbins and Pam from The Office are known for fire walking. Glass walk is walking on broken shards of glass. Something I’ve always wanted to do. Did it with a couple running buddies. Next year maybe Running with the Bulls!

Oh wow, Ohio! Not what I envisioned. Please reconsider the bulls - 7 people perished in this year’s “race”:

And you wanted to do this WHY???

Had a good weekend visiting our son. We ran 6.2 miles yesterday around the park - more hills than I’m used to but it was a good run.

Bunsen-wow, I am really impressed with that pace on a 20 mile run! I’m glad you are feeling better. Is your race on Labor Day?

ohiopublic-holy cow, the fire and ice walk sounds insane. Was alcohol involved?

Gertrude-Your family 5K sounded fun. Congrats on winning your division, haha!

abasket-sounds like a very busy time in the basket household. I hope your daughter gets off to her freshman year OK, that is a very exciting time of life!

Hi All! Back from our road trip through North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana. Lots of hiking. Thinking of idad helped me climb some big mountain trails. Lost 2 pounds even though I wasn’t really trying. Yay! Hope to keep the losing streak going!

Way to go, NMinn!!

C3Baker, thanks, I think I am feeling better. The interesting thing is that my legs did not fall off immediately after the run like they used to do in the past… Must be the miracle gels and the perfectly timed water bottle refilling en route.

abasket, wow, your life sounds like a big whirlwind now. Good luck with everything!

A hilly walk today… plus free weights.

Went to Reformer last night - class led by my trainer so a hard workout. Legs felt good so ran this morning - 5k but on the monster hill which I haven’t done in ages. Strava was kind enough to tell me that was my slowest run on the hill ever! Oh well - feeling better and that’s what matters.

Bunsen, hope you’re feeling better today. Abasket - lots on your plate right now! Don’t forget to make time for you!

A 5.2 mile run last night and it felt great.

Sabaray-how helpful to be told that was your slowest run on the hill - NOT! Glad you are doing better and able to run the hill.

Got my 50 minute run done this morning. The weather is returning to normal, so it was pretty comfortable.

Sabaray, glad your injury seems to be healed.

I think it was the humidity more than anything that really got to me - 76 degrees and humid at 5 am is not my idea of a fun time! I keep reminding myself that pushing so hard is likely what got me injured in the first place, so I’ll just be content with being a turtle for now. Nice to have a supportive friend to run with this morning.

I got out early (for me) this morning for a 4.8 mile run - trying to beat the heat. Yesterday I did the 30-20-10 high intensity intervals on a recumbent elliptical bike machine, in addition to other weights. And a long bike ride on Sunday.

I use mapmyrun on my phone to chart my times, and the last two times it didn’t work (the bike ride and today’s run). Grrr. Not sure what’s going wrong there.

Bunsen, your running times are really impressive.

Sabaray, the speed will be back. Great job tackling that hill!!

sabaray- so glad you are feeling good leg-wise. Slow is good. It really is.

Humidity was horrible this morning for me, too. It was just miserable. I’m heading to Colorado tomorrow so it will be REALLY dry and the altitude will kill me. I can’t wait, though.

I either swam a mile or walk/jogged for 1 hr 20 min 16 times in July. I am behind in Aug, so I need to step it up. See the dietitian Thursday. Still trying to curb my appetite and sticking to 1400 cal/day and get more exercise in. This way works, it just is hard work and it takes time and dedication.

Did anyone follow or join the Trim Down Club? It came as one of the ads on CC and I listened but didn’t join - will ask my dietitian about it. Says dietitian approved meals, and sounded good for what you get, 1 year on-line for $47/year. And if you don’t lose weight in 60 days (or they say 8 full weeks) you can get a refund. What she (Dr Karen Schakelford) said makes sense, and seems to be what my dietitian is trying to achieve with me…

The Trim Down Club sounds interesting. I tried to look for their self-description, but all I could see on the mobile version of their site were the accolades written by current users. Is it like a version of Weight Watchers with meal planning advice and support groups or is it a meal delivery service?

Wow, CC has been pretty quiet…

Got my 5 miles in. Slow does it. Prior to that, had an awesome core routine!

1 streak mile very early before traveling to Colorado. Dry air, here I come!

Safe travels, MOWC! Enjoy and relax.

Rest day for me today, which means it will be a great day to get a handle on my eating! Stress is driving me back towards some unhealthy habits. Planning and prepping some healthy options will help quite a bit.

One of my other projects for today - I found a small spin studio so need to make inquiry. Legs are tired today but no horrible pain just getting out of bed.

You’re right, Bunsen - CC has been quiet. I hope iDad is okay.

Did a 7 mile run last night. Tonight is running club but thunderstorms are in the forecast so it will likely get cancelled. Glad I already have my mileage in for the week leading up to Saturday’s long run - if it’s cancelled I’m still OK, and if we dodge the storms then it’s just bonus miles.

sabaray - enjoy your day of rest. Sorry to hear that you are still under stress.

MOWC - I hope you have a good trip and enjoy the dry air. I hope the elevation doesn’t bother you.
