37 Minute run this morning. The humidity is 90%, but at least it’s cooler. Yesterday I did 50 minutes squeezed in between torrential downpours.
Re: iDad…if anyone DOES keep in contact with him, please let him know he is being asked about and missed!
If he is ill or having issues, he may not want that shared or to share it - but if anyone CAN reach him, please express our concern and care!
Walking and a few strength exercises yesterday, not the strength workout originally planned.
I sent him a PM awhile ago.
My youngest has the flag speedo.
What is your favorite variety of apples? Mine goes back and forth between Northern Spy and Ida Red.
I am pickling apples this afternoon.
Only got in 12 holes of golf today before the storms chased us off the course. I found a kettle bell to use. I am seeing the added benefit of it tightening my middle, I think, more than my arms. I have joined a bowling team, too. Hoping it helps with my armwings on one arm.
Honeycrisp. With honey roasted crunchy peanut butter.
Yellow Transparent! It is a summer apple actually. Very delicate flavor when fully ripe, crisp and mildly acidic when just below full ripeness, and yummy, but it does not store well. I bought my tree at Raintree Nursery; it was one of the first things we planted in our new garden 16 years ago. Some call it White Transparent:
I think Evemtbrite site is gonna crash!
I’m going to Seawheeze!
High-five, sabaray!!! Me too!!!
Bummer for Mr. B - I could not get him in.
Guess he can hang out with Mr. Sabaray.
The thing sold out in 8 minutes!!
Mini CC family reunion!!! ^^^
I’m jealous!
Honeycrisp!
I wasn’t going to try then Mr. Sabaray informed me I should go for it. Can’t believe it sold out so quickly - lots of disappointed people. I wish you were running too, MOWC.
Honeycrisp!
Oh, MOfWC, I too wish you were there. I will get you something from the special merch sale!
I had the Eventbrite link open on two devices. First, I hit refresh on the Surface as soon as the clock hit 10 am. That link placed me into a mystery queue, apparently. Disappointed, at 10:02 or so, I hit refresh on my iphone, and the registration window opened! It gave me 7 minutes to enter all of the required info. Then the page on the Surface opened up with the message that it sold out! Imagine a couple of friends trying to register together and one of them not making it…
Now, we need to look at hotels! It is a 2 hr drive for us, so not bad! I have never ran an official half. Yay, kilometers!
I had a client coming in at 1 pm so I was frantically refreshing chrome - loaded immediately, thank goodness! That’s my first experience with an in demand race - although it seems quite a few people are only in it for the shorts. Go figure.
Yes, for the shorts and the special merch sale that would be open to the registered runners, and that is a bummer!
Got a 10.4 mile run in last night (my Wednesday evening, your Wednesday morning). It went well but the blister on the bottom of my foot from Sunday’s long run is bothering me.
Yay to Sabaray and BunsenBurner for getting in to your race - that sounds awesome!
I also love Honeycrisp.
I’m afraid Honeycrisp will be “mutated” into inedible commodity apple like Red Delicious.
C3Baker, has your blister popped? I am merciless with mine. Although the advice is to leave them healing naturally and to pop only the bad culprits, I take care of every one of them. Pop they go as soon as I can get a hold of some isopropanol, a sharp object, Neosporin, and some bandaids. Otherwise, they take ages to heal! Sterilize your skin by wiping it with isopropanol, dip the sharp object into isopropanol, poke a hole in the blister, get the liquid out, wipe the area with isopropanol again, apply some neosporin, then place a bandaid on it.
If you don’t want to go through the above described procedure, try putting moleskin on it.
