Gertrude, Whole Foods and Wegmans have them in my area. They are delicious! I also eat them toasted with organic peanut butter. Yum!
I need to acquire some of those bananas.
The bananas sound unhealthily delicious!
I did not end up making the meatballs last night. The ground turkey was still solid frozen when I got back home! So dinner was home-cooked chicken stew (with red bell peppers, basil, onions, garlic, marinated artichoke hearts, spices, and a hearty splash of wine). Served it with mushroom buckwheat pilaf (came from a package I bought at the Euro deli store) - it was delicious. No wine or dessert, just decaf green tea.
Just signed up to do a 15K this Sunday - aack! It’s right in my town, so I’ve been wanting to do it but was intimidated by the distance. But after my 10K last weekend & running this morning, my hips feel GREAT (meaning no pain, no tingling or aching) so I will go for it. The worst that will happen is I walk a significant portion of it, but then I’ll still have that distance under my belt.
Sounds gourmet BB! Delicious!
The banana/chocolate combo sounds great but I CANNOT bite into a frozen banana - it’s a texture thing. Too bad!
Came back to my office at 1pm after a busy morning event to find a couple of donuts sitting in a Tim Horton box in the kitchen area here. I grabbed a cup of coffee with half and half which after a busy morning sounded SOOO good and walked past the donuts. Small win.
Breakfast this morning was super quick because of my event. A soft poached egg and some Noosa yogurt with frozen cherries and a little pumpkin/cranberry granola on top. Entertained my event guest by taking them out to lunch at a local neighborhood coffee/cafe and had a bowl of tomato bisque and a small edamame/kale salad - excellent.
Need to have something hot but delicious for dinner…hmmm…
So far today I have resisted Chex mix and chocolate candy - ever present in my office. I used to love getting a frozen banana when I was a kid - I think they were a dime. About all my graduate-school parents could afford! I eat a banana almost every day.
Breakfast and lunch today have been repeats of yesterday - the yogurt is pretty much a staple. Sabadog and Sabapup also enjoy yogurt, so they’re happy on yogurt days!
Mr. Sabaray is out tonight, so I think dinner will be stir fry tofu and broccoli.
I got my stitches out this morning, yay!
Yay sabaray on the stitches - how is it feeling?
No lie, it is sore. The new skin is very tender and it’s still difficult to make a fist or to grip anything tightly with that hand. Thankfully it doesn’t look like there will be much scarring, if any.
I bet it is! When my last dog was a brand new puppy he “bit” me on the hand jumping up to grab his leash. He just caught my palm with his sharp little puppy tooth. I tried to pretend it didn’t need stitches, but it did. It was pretty minor but it was tender for months and months.
So how did everyone do today? I finished my day with brown rice, black beans, guacamole and some steamed broccoli. Two big dog walks today, nothing else. No candy, Chex mix, or diet Coke even though I really wanted one. Day two - win.
Good day, sabaray! And I’m glad to hear your stitches are out.
Here’s my day: Breakfast of cheerios, chopped almonds, banana, blueberries with milk; jasmine green tea
Lunch: Curried tuna salad, slice of whole wheat toast, cottage cheese, avocado half, sliced pear half, red grapes
Dinner: Acorn squash soup with chunks of leftover chicken, peanuts and plain yogurt, slice of banana walnut bread, small salad, milk.
It was a drizzly, damp day and the only exercise was an evening stroll. I did do a bunch of cooking, but resisted the tortilla chips
Man, I could totally eat with you people. Love your food when you’re good, love your snacks when you are not!!!
Interesting that most of us ARE breakfast eaters. Is anyone not??
Dinner for me ended up being a small portion of whole wheat spaghetti with marinara and freshly grated parm and some pickled beets!
Only pup walks for me today as well. My legs were a little sore today from my run last night!
My knee is much better today but I’ll wait to see the doctor tomorrow before attempting a run.
Breakfast: 1 piece of toast with butter, 1/2 oz of walnuts, 1/2 oz of cashews, 5 prunes.
Lunch: 2 hard boiled eggs
Dinner: leftovers: roasted chicken, sautéed chard and opo squash, grapes for dessert
I’m not sure I’m finished for the day
I hit the candy corn a little too often at work today.
I managed a day with no nibbles! I allowed myself one treat when I got home, then brushed my teeth so I was not tempted to snack while making dinner. Thanks for giving me a place to be acountable!
My menu:
Oatmeal squares cereal with walnuts
Yogurt with blueberries & muesli
Salad, seared ahi tuna, honey roasted almonds
Roasted yam with black beans, orange slices
Dinner was lemon pepper shrimp with brown rice & roasted green beans
I think we are a pretty healthy bunch of eaters here!
No dinner in sight for me yet! Have to get back home first, I guess!
But I avoided the donuts and candy bowls successfully.
I failed. Got home 45 min ago and was super hungry. So mushroom ravioli was the tonight’s dinner! I am making beef Stroganoff as we speak - for tomorrow’s lunches and dinners.
The final tally:
- Breakfast: cup of coffee with 2% milk, cup of Fage 2% milkfat yogurt, 1 egg, half of a Thomas muffin with a monolayer of cream cheese, and a cup of strawberries.
- Lunch: some leftover chicken/pilaf, cup of abovementioned yogurt, one apple and water.
- Dinner: 5 raviolis with sour cream sauce, some red bell pepper slices, water and a small glass of red wine.
Need to up the veggies!!!
Breakfast: a banana, 2 eggs, coffee
Lunch- salad with chicken strips (grilled)
Dinner- chicken and veggie stir fry.
Snacks- string cheese, apple, skinny pop popcorn
Doubled on yoga - AM and PM classes.
Good job everyone - even if you snacked on some candy corn - there’s still some left in the bowl, right?!
