Ouch, ohio - be careful!

3.5 miles this morning, very relaxed, legs were tired. But it’s done!

I had a very fast 3.7 mile run last night. I sure miss the daylight in the evening now.

Ohiopublic-Yikes, I hope your hand isn’t broken. I agree that mountain biking is terrifying. I don’t even like trail running, it’s too easy for me to fall. I hope you are enjoying Vegas.

MOWC-your father’s services sounded perfect.

Ohio, you need to get that hand checked out pronto! If the bones are broken (hope not!!!), they need to heal properly to preserve hand dexterity.

Hope you’re okay, Ohio!

3 easy miles this morning. Legs are tired, but enjoyed having it be light out & finally cool.

My next race will be a 10-miler in 2 weeks, then if that goes well I will sign up for a HALF in late December. Woo Hoo!

I’m really looking forward to the 10-miler. It’s called the Silver Strand race & the course is on a narrow strip of land between the Pacific ocean & San Diego Bay, so there is water on both sides. Should be gorgeous and pleasantly cool & breezy.

I know exactly where that is, Gertrude! It sounds lovely.

Hand is not swollen. Usually I don’t head to the doctor until my wife “makes” me! Thumb is acting funky? Dislocated maybe?

Think I might do the red rock ROAD bike loop today after trade show appearance today. I think my mountain bike trail rides are over unless it is on a converted rail trail. I think I’m headed to a meetup with a buddy next weekend o the greenbrier tail near lewisburg wv. Think I need my mountain bike for that from what I read. Don’t think the surface is road bike worthy.

I like the things to do outside of Vegas. Biking, hiking, etc. Don’t like gambling, the shows and especially the homeless situation. I typically stay downtown so I see a lot of homeless early am when I go out on an early morning walk around Fremont st area. Sad.

Ohio, please do be careful! We’re protective of our peeps around here!

Got an outside run in this morning in Denver. The altitude has been fine for me breathing wise, but the dryness - omg, I have guzzled SO much water and still, my nose, mouth, throat is continually parched. My lips need constant lip balm.

They fed us WAY much, and WAY well at this conference! This morning was too sugar filled though at breakfast. A plethora of every donut imaginable, beautiful cinnamon rolls, yogurt and mixed fresh berry “shots” w/basil. Alone, all delicious. Together? Ugh. Can’t wait to have my soft boiled egg tomorrow!

Heading to the airport soon - but have a couple hour wait there till I catch my plane to Detroit and then home. This is the time in a trip where you want to snap your fingers and just be home.

Safe travels, abasket!

Back to my egg breakfasts, too! Was doing well today, too. Had 2 eggs, cup of yogurt, and a large apple for lunch. Snack was a few PB filled pretzel bites. Dinner will be leftover salmon and Asian cabbage salad from Costco.

I am not happy about the darkness because of the time switch.

Ouch, Ohio! Hope the hand is okay.

abasket, sounds like your Colorado trip has been great!

Meanwhile, in Florida, it is just hot–over 90 yesterday and today with no break in sight. I ran a very slow 5 miles this morning and walked about three more early this evening. One of younger sisters ran her first marathon last weekend. She and her husband had planned to walk a lot of it, but figured out they’d be okay with some running. They finished in under six hours. So proud of her!

I went to Whole Foods yesterday and stocked up on dried beans from the bins. For dinner, I made some herbed French lentils using a Nigella Lawson recipe. Super easy and super tasty. I halved this and it made a decent portion.

PlantMom, kudos to your sister and her husband. They definitely ran if they were able to finish in under 6 hours. because 4.4 miles/hour is very speedy walking.

They definitely ran a lot! Good for them!

Thanks for that recipe and recommendation, PlantMom - I have a big bag of French lentils that I’ve been trying to decide what to do with. The decision has now been made!

World’s toughest Pilates session this morning but I feel great. My trainer is going to be gone until December so I’ll be working with someone else the rest of the month - while I know it’s good to mix things up, I’m going to miss her terribly!

I also really want to buy this vest in the teal: http://shop.lululemon.com/products/clothes-accessories/jackets-and-hoodies-jackets/Down-For-A-Run-Vest

I have a similar Athleta vest but the color is so pretty!

Safe travels abasket! Don’t you wish you were Harry Potter and could just do your apparition spell and be home?!

Gertrude-Woo Hoo, looking ahead to a half marathon in December! You have really come a long way with your running! The course sounds just beautiful!

BunsenBurner-I am right there with you on being unhappy with it being dark so early in the evening now. Boo Hiss!

Sorry evening runners, I feel your pain! I guess the am & pm runners will always be happy at different times. I’m enjoying the light mornings, but they will be gone again by mid-December.

I did not have a good self-control day yesterday in the food department. Halloween candy everywhere at work. I will do better today!

LOL sabaray. I ordered the Down for a Run pullover in the teal last night! I don’t really need it since I have the yellow pullover from a couple of years ago, but I loved the color. I was afraid it would be gone if I thought about it too long.
I love vests, but I am always afraid I won’t be warm enough. I tend to wear the vests more for casual wear.

That teal stuff is amazing! I am trying to exercise willpower and stay off Lulu for the time being.

I dunno about morning running, Gertrude. I would have to wake up at 4:30 to be able to run in the mornings, and it would be running in the dark anyway. So I just have to tough it out…

Started my morning with a set of pushups and some squats.

Do not read this with a full bladder or anywhere you need to be quiet and not laugh loudly.

These are amazing!!! Thanks for sharing and for the warning. I made sure no one heard me snorting and giggling. Forwarded to the kiddos.

Those are GREAT. And, awful!!! Raising hand that I would have a story or two to share that would/could be equally horrifying!

Didn’t get home till after midnight from my trip and managed to still get myself to work by 9:30. Can’t wait to go to bed tonight! The weather however is STELLAR this week even here in Ohio - today, sunny and 75 - in November - these are what dreams are made of!!! Came home from work a little early and worked out in the yard for an hour and a half or so. It was still light and beautiful but my body just could not handle a run - BUT I did manage a 2.5 miles walk. The trees in the neighborhood are STUNNING!
