Pizzagirl, there is nothing pathetic about run-walking. And for what it is worth, Mr. likes to watch CNN or CNBC while we exercise in our little home gym. The talking heads go over the same thing many times, so I get to listen to the same thing over and over! Thank goodness The Profit was on last night… The show was about a failing shoe business, so that was quite entertaining!
If I have to be on the treadmill, I have some playlists that I listen to over and over. If I’m running outdoors, no music.
Great job, Gertrude! I think I’m really slacking. I felt really good in my new Brooks - I put on my “old” shoes to walk the pups and felt like my feet were swimming in them.
Good job, Gertrude. Sabarary- glad you like the Brooks.
My son had a very bad mountain bike accident this morning due to the front fork failing. It is a clear product liability issue. He was in shock and hysterical when he called me from the middle of the woods somewhere in Philly. He is now at the oral surgeon with possible damaged teeth, a lip that needs stitches and a possible broken hand. I was trying to manage this from my eye doctor’s office in Tennessee. Have I mentioned that I HATE bicycling? I wish none of my family members went near a bike. He was training for Puerto Rico Half Ironman and my husband was going with him. Not sure what will happen now or if his teeth can be saved.
Oh my goodness MOWC. Sending prayers for your son and that his injuries can be remedied as easily and smoothly as possible. And for you for the stress - I can only imagine. Hugs.
Oh no, MOWC - sending hopeful thoughts your way. I have to agree with you on the biking - a few of my friends / family have had very bad accidents. Keep us posted!
Oh my!!! MOfWC, so sorry. I hope the teeth could be saved somehow. Kids! Even when they are on their own, they still are our kids. It hurts when they are hurt! Hugs.
MOWC-Wow, I am so sorry about your son’s bike accident. That sounds awful! Prayers for him and you and family. Please keep us posted.
Oh MOWC that is awful. Sending thoughts for your S’s quick recovery.
So sorry MOWC - hopefully since he got to the surgeon so quickly his teeth can be saved. I hope he is okay.
So sorry MOWC. I hope his teeth are ok. I’m with you on the bikes.
1hr 15 skiing. Snowing while I was on the trail. Beautiful and peaceful.

Oh no – you just can’t catch a break can you? Good thoughts going out to you and your son.
MOWC, hope your S is ok. Glad he was able to contact you and get help.
Thanks, everyone. It’s pretty upsetting.
In better news, today is day 200 of my streak! 958.2 miles for an average of 4.8 miles a day). Onward!
Sports are dangerous!! So sorry to hear if this.
MoWC, sorry to hear such bad news, and hope he’s OK. But congrats on the streak.
Mountain biking looks really scary. I heard an interview with Adam Driver, who said he had a mountain biking accident just before he was deployed, where the handlebars broke his sternum. Horrible.
The wind was howling outside again today, and I just didn’t feel like moving – but I finally got up and went to the health club and ran 6.75 miles on the treadmill. Glad to be home and warm again.
His left hand is broken. He just started back with his swim team last night to prepare for Puerto Rico Half Ironman. He still wants to go- he can get in a couple of weeks of swimming once his cast is off and can still bike and run for now- inside for the bike, I hope. Biking is even more dangerous if your bike fails when it shouldn’t.
What a day MOWC (and Son of!) Are his teeth ok? And, are you ok??
Was a busy day with some obligations after work but squeezed in a couple miles at the gym, two good solid pup walks and 30 minutes of so of shoveling the annoying inch of snow we got today.
“He still wants to go- …”
Oh goodness. Of course he does!! Hope he has matured enough to listen to his doctors… and his parents, so if they tell him something is not a good idea, it will not fall on deaf ears!
My heart breaks for him. So much efforts since his last injury went into this training, and the stupid bike falls apart under him…
MOWC - praying for a quick recovery.
Feel bad for your son, MOWC. Hope he mends quickly–he must be so disappointed.
My yoga class was cancelled today, so I went to the gym and worked out on the Cybex Arc for 45 minutes and did my 20 pushups. Wasn’t into it at all.
