^^^ You must be feeling some cabin fever by now! Much more than 24 hours stuck in the house and I would be getting antsy!!!
I am antsy, abasket. Thankfully we have power and physical activity helps. I’m actually working from home today, but several servers are down and I’m limited in what I can do.
The weekend was a bust exercise wise. We went to my bil’s cottage. My sil did something to her knee in barre class and I used that excuse to shop and eat and hang out in the hot tub. Big fail. My H went XC skiing with his brother and they are way too fast and good for me. I didn’t want to ski by myself. H was so sore last night he couldn’t hardly climb into bed.
Got back on the wagon today, 30 minutes on the treadmill.
Fireandrain, hope that whatever is making your nauseous is very short-lived. Get well soon.
Can you imagine that 1/12th of 2016 is almost over? And I still keep doing my pushups.
Well, our gym that has been closed since Friday finally reopened at 10. Too late for me to get a run in and I have a Pilates class this afternoon. Some intended exercise, finally! Dogs are exhausted. Sabapup took a lengthy nap yesterday (yes, on the couch) and this morning after a run in the yard they looked at me like “Go to work already!” Our main roads are okay, but the residential streets are a mess - I thought about walking to work, but there’s way too much ice for that. Warmup is on the way.
A lot of our snow has melted, but parts of the streets (residential where not plowed at all) are choppy and icy still. I dropped my husband off at 7am to meet his bike friends to drive to Florida. It was like a scene from Grumpy Old Men. 4 guys over 70 in a rented mini-van with 4 bicycles worth a fortune driving to Florida. I am SO glad I am flying in tomorrow to meet them and not driving.
Short run on the dreadmill this morning before all that happened. More later, hopefully. Might be able to go outside if it all melts today.
Hope you feel better, fireandrain!
3 classes in the books. Pilates reformer, DaVinci bodyboard, and core power yoga. Pretty wiped.
for the lurkers who think we are hard core, I just want to say this - today in yoga we were doing crow pose, which I can normally manage, and I fell smack dab flat on my face, wIth a thud noticeable to all! Nothing damaged other than my pride though.
Pizzagirl- I can relate. I’ve reported here before that I fell out of crow pose once and completely rolled onto someone else’s mat. I could not stop laughing- which is sort of a no-no. I ruined everyone’s karma!
I don’t even try crow pose!
I’m impressed that you folks can do crow pose. Not me!
Well, obviously we can’t quite do it!
These images make me laugh - along with you - not at you!!!
Wasn’t expecting to get out and run today but it was 45 degrees after work - 45! Got 30 minutes in and am pleased!
The other thing that I wanted to note today was that the Corepower Yoga class had a young woman with Down syndrome. I’m guessing in her twenties. She followed along as best she could and while she certainly didn’t get it all “right,” hey, neither do I. It was just really touching to me how accepting everyone was, how much fun she was having and how proud she was that she was engaging in a regular activity. I really appreciate the Corepower vibe of non-competitiveness (not that yoga should ever be competitive, but you all know what I mean). She just was where she was and that was fine. This was the second time I’d seen her in class but forgot to mention it to you all.
^^^ Love this.
Also PG, today I looked up DaVinci bodyboard - I had no idea what this was - I have to say, it looks fun!!
Had to talk myself into going for a run tonight after work. I did 4 miles and felt great afterwards. I don’t know why it’s so hard to get going sometimes, but I have to say that I’ve never regretted going on a run.
Pizzagirl-I love that the young woman with Down syndrome enjoyed yoga so much and that everyone was so accepting. That is awesome!
5 mile run this morning when it was beautiful–sunny and in the low 50’s. 3 more miles of walking. When I ran, I let the fitbit use my phone’s gps tracking. I like the breakdown of information I see when I log in to my account on the laptop: a map of the run, detailed and graphical displays of my heart rate and pace. It’s way more data than I ever get on my phone app!
S2 and I got the driveway cleared today. 5’ piles on each side. He did most of the work, but I did the max that I was allowed. Will ride my airdyne tonight (I have enough mobility to pedal – yeah!) and am getting the H out of this house in the am and going to rehab. PT was cancelled this am, though I couldn’t have gotten the car out of the driveway til almost 5 pm today anyway. Doing lots of stairs at home, facing forward and without holding the rail.
Counting Down - you are determined!!!
Plantmom, I’ll have to pay more attention via my laptop to my Fitbit - I tend to just view the phone info.
Abasket - DaVinci Bodyboard is only offered in a few places in the US and it just so happens the place where I do Pilates and barre offers it. It’s kind of unusual that it’s just a little privately owned studio in the burbs versus one of the big glitzy gyms downtown, but there you have it. It is fun. And calorie burning! I’m still a klutz at it but so be it!
I tried a new exercise that my Pilates person had me do. I was seated at the very end of a Wunda chair (a device used in Pilates) but really any relatively high chair would do – very end, almost off the chair. Lift one foot (keeping knee bent). Then get up and sit back down, slowly being the operative word, without holding on. Harder than it sounds!
