Yeah- the streak is the priority. I have a conference call in a few minutes, which I will do from bed, and then will try the mile. I’m just so weak!
Rooting for you!!
You’d better get that mile in - or I might actually have more steps than you today!
@MomofWildChild – hope you get that mile in… good luck.
DD and I were planning an “easy” 2-3 mile run today (after my one-hour dog agility lesson, which always includes a lot of sprinting) but when I jokingly suggested that we run the stairs at the park (250 foot vertical), she jumped on the suggestion–so we “ran” up and then trotted home, just under two miles total and 25 flights of stairs…
^^^^^@dmd77: Are you in SF? I did a long/steep brick stairway a few times when I was out there visiting and knew I’d die before I got to the top.
Only managed to do a 2.5 mile walk today–planned on yoga but life got in the way. Yoga (vinyasa flow) tomorrow.
Found a Pilates studio close to home and got a newcomer’s rate ($99 for 5 sessions). Starts March 7th.
Sending you healing mojo MOWC.
1.1 miles done. Streak at 234 days. 11:30 pace and then I picked it up a little at the end. My legs felt SO weak, but my stomach did OK. Steps now at 3582. So- I did it.
The cats started fighting on the bed during my conference call and I had to put it on mute! I love “working from home”.
MOWC, the virus going around is just wicked. My brother-in-law, my sister, my parents. Makes you want to hide in a cave. Hope you feel better soon.
Yay, MOfWC, you did it! Great job.
“The cats started fighting on the bed during my conference call and I had to put it on mute! I love “working from home”.”
LOL, that sounds so familiar. They somehow know how to time those fights strategically.
Still trying to figure out the commute but am making treadmill time a priority in the AM.
My FitBit is having some sort of meltdown. The time doesn’t update unless I check the dashboard on my phone or iPad. My steps are way undercounted and it’s not logging my treadmill time as “active minutes” and not counting any stairs. Any suggestions? The only thing I have done differently is that I logged my yoga class on Saturday and the trouble seemed to start after that.
Oh no! Is there a tech support chat? I would try that first.
Or call them. You might need to do a reset.
MOWC-Yay, I’m so glad the streak continues. Now hopefully you are back resting some more.
FallGirl-have you tried powering the Fitbit off and then restarting it?
I got a 7.5 mile run in tonight and it felt good. Our forecast is horrible for Wednesday and Thursday so I needed to get miles in tonight.
@Bromfield2 – I live in Portland, OR. Close enough to Mt. Tabor Park (http://www.yelp.com/biz/mt-tabor-stairs-portland-2) that I consider it home territory.
@MomofWildChild – bravo!
You’re insane :-). I have that stomach bug and I’ve done nothing other than lie in bed and read and play on the Internet. I can finally keep Gatorade down. I can’t imagine walking much less running. 1000 steps on the Fitbit, most of which are running to and from the bathroom!
That’s how I felt all day, but by 5:00 I felt like I could do the mile. My stomach is hurting again, though. This is a rough bug.
Running a mile is not something anyone should do while having norovirus unless you are streaking.
Gotta love my city on seven hills! 36 Fitbit “floors,” with only 5 actual flights of stairs.
Good thing MOWC’s family and friends don’t have our contact info - pushing a sick women to get on a treadmill and crank out a mile - what enablers we are!!! Kidding aside, I think we do know how much it means to you and we figure you’re not going to keel over in 11 minutes on the treadmill!
I do hope you have a restful night and wake up feeling like you can tackle a little more than 692 steps.
It was cold, but I got out for a quick 3 miles - wasn’t into it, but got er done!
Almost to 4000 steps, including the run. I haven’t left the house today.
Feel better MoWC and kudos on making it through your run without a breakdown
I’ve been a cleaning fool at my mom’s. Yesterday was windows; today gutters. Honestly I was wishing I had more yoga training while contorting my body through some of the above chores: one leg crane gutter swoosh; eagle wing window wipe while reaching to the sky; serpentine thrust of arms through casement windows to reach screen. I am sore from this housework!
Today I ran about 5 on the beach and it was difficult because of the temperature, humidity, sand, and wind. The running back into the wind felt like a StairMaster exercise. I will feel it tomorrow.
Absolutely outstanding, MOfWC! Feel better.
