Great job Gertrude! I hope you’ve enjoyed the rest of your day and that you’re feeling good tomorrow.

Ran 3.5 miles in the gym. Could have gone much longer, but Mr. got tired and became lonely. The plan for the remainder of the day is to eat something healthy, stay away from Hula pie, and then go for a 4-mile RT walk to the ville. There is apparently a Lulu in there.

Quite an accomplishment Gertrude, congrats!

And speaking of accomplishments of another sort, finally my new granddaughter is home with the deliriously happy Mom and Dad. It was an interesting five day stretch. First the baby had been exposed to meconium in utero and had to be held in the nursery while her lungs were checked and some initial breathing concerns dealt with. That got resolved just fine but then she developed jaundice, so back to the nursery she went. That finally got cleared up 2 days ago but then Mom developed blood pressure issues and had to be put on anti-seizure IV meds. She was cleared to go home this afternoon and finally baby and parents are ensconced in their home for their first night on their own without medical oversight, prodding and poking. And finally, the grandparents are not “on call” and the daily routines can return to normal. Even managed to do a 40 mile ride today :).

Wow, Michael. What a roller coaster ride!! Hope there will be no more hospital adventures. Glad that everyone is finally home.

Winding down the day with almost 27,000 steps, including my treadmill run. No Hula Pie! That is a personal best for me - I mean no pie, not the steps.

@busdriver11 : this is a women’s triathlon in August: http://whyracingevents.com/event/877/ – not Seattle, but Portland (well, Vancouver, WA). Not indoors but down current in the Columbia. There’s also duathlon-- just bike and run. Not very big, either. I’m entered.

Glad they are home, Michael! Enjoy.

But it’s Pi Day today BB - just a small sliver!!!

Hope the first night at home with baby was a little restful for all!

Fitbit seems back to normal today - I’ll just have to figure yesterday was a glitchy day. Michael, what an adventure for everyone! Hope smoother roads are ahead for the new family.

Easy 5.5 miles this morning, didn’t feel great. Wet roads and fog make me nervous and I run accordingly. Pup walk and now off to work.

Last Florida run. 5 miles in the bag. Legs were tired and the humidity felt higher, but it was nice. The next two days will be challenging. I have a 6:25 am flight tomorrow (after I get home tonight) and will be with business associates for 2 tiring days. With the time change, it will be dark Wed morning when I can run.

Woke up in the middle of the night with an ache in my back (obliques) enough that I took Motrin. I had done a DaVinci Board resistance training in the morning and a yoga class at night. Woke up this morning feeling better and had planned to do Pilates, DaVinci and then my dance class in the evening. But my Pilates teacher stretched me out and told me to skip DaVinci for today and just do the dance class (which is fairly light - though I do do moves involving going upside down on chairs!). She basically said “don’t be a stupid idiot” in so many words

I think the cumulative impact of classes can really stress your body and I think that was a big part of my problem last week. You’re working those same muscles over and over and not really giving yourself a chance to recover. I’ve learned the hard way that more isn’t necessarily better. Those Pilates teachers are smart!

Such good news, Michael! I hope the baby and parents settle in to home with no further ado.

3.6 mile run in the warm, humid outside this morning. I’m going to aim for the gym, later today, to do some weights. I foresee a return to the treadmill in the near future. It was already in the mid-70’s for this mornings run, and that’s where it starts to get uncomfortable for me (i.e. breathing too hard, heartrate too high, not enjoying the running :frowning: ).

All the posts about Florida humidity are a reminder to me to not rush the warm/hot weather and to just enjoy the cool mildly warm spring! Humidity is a killer!

This morning I updated my Fitbit in about 2 minutes, and all is well. Maybe their systems were overloaded yesterday.

40 minutes on the Arc machine, 2+ miles walking, and a long dog walk. I had also planned to walk to my hair appointment, but it looks as if the approaching rain will put a kibosh on that.

Boop, another bad day :(. I only slept about 4 hours last night because I kept waking up in pain.

Wednesday cannot come fast enough. I can’t hope enough that the treatments work. I want to be able to start moving and sleeping again.

The weather is nice and dangit, I want to enjoy it

My Fitbit only got 1 flight today, so it did better. The last few days have been strange.

Trying to convince Mr. to go on a short (4-5 miles) hike.

4-mile hike accomplished. To honor the Pie Day, I made a homemade version of Hula Pie: sliced strawberry “crust” and a heap of mac nut ice cream. Mmmm… Need to burn more calories tonight!

^^^Atta girl.

I love pie. Like as much as I love donuts. I have in the oven a VERY small cherry “pie” - some frozen cherries w/minimal sugar and cornstarch - just enough to thicken it a bit and then a little crust dough that I just sprinkled on top. And I will enjoy it tonight!

Tried to go out for a run tonight. But the rain won. Got 1 1/2 mile walk at lunch, got home in time to take pup for a mile walk and it started sprinkling as we approached home. Tried to go out three times - each time it would start to rain! Finally gave up and came in and did a strength training workout - honestly, I need to do that more . It’s important along with cardio - did a million squats, 60 pushups, weight work - all that and my steps and calling it a DAY!

Nice workouts and pies!

I added 3 more miles of running/walking intervals and weight work at the gym plus a bit of garden work. I bought a piece of walnut date “cake” from Whole Foods. Since it looks like a slice of pie, I’ll claim a small chunk of that with a bit of rum runner cheese (Sartori) as my pi day celebration dessert accompanied by a very small mix of pear brandy and half and half on ice as the a la mode topping

It was 88 degrees today. Too soon. The H and I like to walk before dinner. When he gets home after 5 with the day’s heat peaking, (thank you–NOT!!!–DST), it just gets gritty. After walking a few miles, cooking anything–especially if it involves a hot oven or stove–is not a pleasure. Even when running the A/C and pushing the temperatures down, beating late afternoon heat is tough in Florida. I’d be thrilled to never have DST. It’d be cheaper too.
