Speaking of skimpy…it looks like Lululemon is rolling out a new website.
Lol. Their site has been really sluggish as of last month…
Here are the official photos of the 2016 Seawheeze shorts:
I don’t think most people would want to see a man in a sports bra and Kara Goucher shorts!
I had (for me) a longish run today – 7.2 miles. I went a little longer than usual because this will be my last run for 2 weeks.
Tomorrow I head off to Peru – I’m sure not running for the first few days because of the altitude, and then we’re going on a 7-day hike. I’m nervous about the hike – turns out I’m allergic to the prescription med that alleviates symptoms of altitude sickness so I’m resorting to home remedies. We’re taking time to acclimate, I’ve been OK in altitude before – fingers crossed this all goes well.
I will be totally without internet during the hike and will have very limited access for the rest of the trip. I’ll fill everyone in when I get back!
Before I go … here’s a link to a story on food delivery services that was in the NY Times. http://nyti.ms/235PMRR. I was tempted by Chef’d, because it doesn’t require a subscription (you can get individual meals) and some of them looked pretty good.
BB, hope you are on the mend. And if anyone wants to garden at my house, they are welcome to it – I have the biggest black thumb and enjoy nothing about gardening.
Safe travels fireandrain!!! What a trip!
Wow, bon voyage and have a fun and safe adventure, fireandrain! Hope your body will acclimate wihhout issues.
Have a great trip, fireandrain!
Back in the 80s men would do whole triathlons in just a Speedo, and there was a guy in Dallas who trained (running) in the Speedo. He was very fit, but just NO!!! We still talk about it.
Lol!!! Judging by their statues and murals etc., those ancient Greek dudes competed in their Olympics almost nekkid. Maybe he was trying to channel his inner Greek god.
Love the SeeWheeze shorts. His name was Dave Ammon. We define any “odd” athletic attire by saying “Remember Dave Ammon?”
Good night at the track. 4x200. 4x400. Tried out my new spikes on the last 400. I brought along a 15 lb dumbbell and ran the 2nd 400 with it to remind myself of why I need to drop 15 lbs. Didn’t time anything tonight but felt that it added 5-10 seconds in that 400 meters alone. That’s 20-40 seconds per mile.
Got an email from Nike that they have an extra 20% off clearance + free shipping with Nike+ = new shoes for abasket!
That’s a good thing to do, Ohio!
Oh God. Lulu out up some bizarre white Lycra shorts tonight. Look a little like Depends. Twitter is buzzing. Verdict is too risky for exercising.
I just saw that!! Lol. They do look like depends.
They also now have the Align crop in some kind of military green color.
But the shorts have such a stylish trademark Omega symbol on the back!
I am drooling over the coast wrap in Alberta lake. But I need another jacket like a hole in my head B-)
Go for it, deb! I’m not a fan of white workout gear either.
60 degrees and misty this morning, but I dragged out for my workout. 60 minutes total with intervals of not so slow running with slow recovery periods interspersed. Wearing the Transcends makes a huge difference - my legs feel really good. It is really hard to do exactly what someone tells you!
Pilates circuit class this afternoon - looking forward to that.
fireandrain - have a fabulous trip! I absolutely loved Peru; we were there this same time of year in 2012 - it was beautiful. I hope you don’t have any altitude issues. None of our family had any issues and we didn’t do any meds, but I know everyone is different. Looking forward to hearing about your hike and the rest of the trip when you get back.
There was a guy running the Mini in a speedo on Saturday. Not a good sight.
I had a slow 4 mile run with running club last night. It was pretty muggy and I am not used to this yet. It is going to be even warmer and muggier tonight so I’d better get used to it pretty quickly!
Enjoy your trip fireand rain.
Did my training while I was waiting for my car inspection this AM. Purposely made sure 2 of the running intervals were up a big hill. I thought of all of you who run 3, 5, 10 or more miles and hope I get there someday. This is hard. I appreciate all of the support here.
You will be amazed at how much those hills will help, FallGirl! Great job!
@fireandrain - have a wonderful time on your trip; what a great adventure!
Fallgirl -I definitely need to do more hill training as well. I have 3 half-marathons coming up in June, July & August so I think I’ll concentrate on just keeping my mileage up over the summer, but after the August one I will make hill training a priority. It would be nice not to be completely de-railed by a hilly run.
In a recent race, there was a guy running barefoot in a neon yellow speedo & he had a “man-bun” & a shaggy beard. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. He left me in the dust!
