Go dmd! You are beating everyone who didn’t show up!

Three mile walk today. Restorative yoga tonight. Taking the Pilates mat make-up class tomorrow.

Great that you are doing the trail ceunning series Dmd. I often look around yoga and realize I am the oldest person in the room–I figure I am just going to keep moving till I drop.

Sabaray–nice job on your 3-hour run.

The ultimate workout playlist songs:

Just proof of how old I am – I don’t think any of those songs are in my iTunes library, and the vast majority of them I’ve never heard of (either the songs or the artists).

I have a couple of those on my Spotify lists - I rarely use my iTunes anymore it seems!

I’d say that’s a pretty heavy hip-hop list - if that’s what you like when you are running/working out!

I have some on my Spotify as well, abasket - if I’m stuck on the treadmill though I have a “running” playlist that’s pretty heavy on the Springsteen repeats.

In addition to the 2 classes I did this morning, I did a CorePower yoga 12-1 and another 4:30-5:30. I was going to do an OrangeTheory at 6:45 but screw it - I think for the sake of everyone around me, I’m going to go home, take a cool shower and call it a day!

4 classes?! No wonder you’re sweating!!

How is retirement treating you PG? Has the transition been good?

Yes, thanks for asking! Able to deal with things at home, extended family, etc with a lot less stress.

That’s a full day, pizzagirl! I could NOT do that!

It really isn’t as bad as it seems! DaVinci and Pilates are in the same studio, 8:30-9:15 and 9:30-10:30. I then had an errand in Oak Park and drove there and decided to do the 12-1 class before my errand. Then I came back home, ate, did a few more things and did the 4:30-5:30 class! I have to allow plenty of recovery time.

Ohio, very interesting. What picqued my interest is how the owners are trying to create a boutique experience in a big box space across many modalities based on classes. The hot trend right now on the coasts is small studio boutique branding with a studio specializing in a particular discipline and creating a community culture and atmosphere, coupled with services such as ClassPass enabling clients to buy session credits that can be used at any studio that subscribes to the ClassPass system. That way, clients can pick and choose from a broad variety of classes at studios of their choice, with no long term commitments and an ability to mix things up from day to day or week to week as they so desire. What these owners have done is tried to create kind of like a branded shopping mall with key anchor stores so that there will be client loyalty to the brand and to the individual class operations housed there.

That looks like a great gym for Pizzagirl. She can live in it!

Tripped and fell AGAIN tonight but once again merely bruised. Was not DFL. It was a hard run, though, the downhills were so steep it was hard to run, the uphills were hard–and it was out-and-back, which is my least favorite kind of race, because I don’t enjoy seeing all those people who are ahead of me… Although I did like seeing how graceful the lead runners are!

Phew, dmd! Congrats on not DFLing and on staying mostly intact! Great job.

Congrats on finishing, dmd.

PG, I couldn’t do all that you do! I have Pilates tomorrow for the first time since my trainer was on vacation and I’m already expecting the worst!

Easy 2 miles this morning for recovery. Slept in until 5! The low HR has me noticing more things about my stride (or lack thereof) - still need to work on my hill technique. I’m trying to power through them with a longer stride, which results in more of a heel strike, which results in tired quads and hips. Or at least I think so.

Really, guys, don’t be impressed - I simply cannot (or maybe it’s choose not to, but the end result is the same) run the way you guys do. I am far more impressed with all that!

Congrats DMD. I wish I could do the downhills but my knees can’t take the pounding plus I’m afraid of the bruises.

Congrats dmd and glad you were not badly injured.

Way to get it done, dmd! Glad you are intact!

Brutal morning- again. 75 and 80% humidity.
