Where are you going, PlsntMom? We leave for Vienna on Friday! H and I have not had a real vaca together in 5 years - all of our joint travel has been seeing family or kid graduations.

As a bonus, we just scored upgrades to biz class - which we had been trying to get for 9 months but was just released last night! Zzzz!

Agree with you, Abasket! It just cooled down here and the mugginess is mostly gone. Yay for fall!

Please, please, send some my way.

Signed, a Florida resident stuck in a tropical storm.

Be safe, Niquii.

Supposed to be getting cooler/less humid here. I was looking forward to a gorgeous weekend, but now it looks as if we may have some rain. I still hope to get outside and hope that no one gets hit with a really bad storm.

Off to yoga.

PlantMom - I hope you get out of town OK for your big trip. All that rain headed your way sounds terrible. Fingers crossed that you don’t have any travel issues.

PG - I love Vienna! Have a wonderful trip!

fireandrain - welcome back and nice job wading through all the posts! Glad to hear that you had a good trip!

At our running club pizza dinner the other night we talked about doing a destination race. Lots of emails yesterday and it looks as if we may all be going to the Key West Half Marathon in January. Sounds great to me!

Tonight is a local 5K race, it’s the 4th in a series of 5. It is a little cooler and less humid so it will make for much nicer conditions.

Key West in January sounds very fun, C3Baker! You’ve got the right idea for a destination race.

Still very humid here and not appreciably cooler - 64 degrees and 100 % humidity. “Fun” little workout this morning - 15 minutes easy, 20 minutes pace and 10 minutes to cool down. Didn’t have my Garmin display set up correctly so was approximating intervals with my fitbit and mile splits. Thankfully I seemed to hit them - sometimes you just need to go with the flow.

Where is that cooldown, anyway?

sabaray - I’m so glad that the revised info on the MCM works for you! Yay! I’m sure you will do great, but I’ll bet it is a confidence boost knowing that you don’t have to be concerned with the checkpoints. Great job with your run this morning!

Cooling down here too - we hit 95 yesterday, but the weekend is forecast to have a high of 80. I know it won’t last - September & the first half of October are the hottest times here in SD, but I’ll take it while it lasts.

I didn’t have cooler weather this morning, but by the time I left for work I think it was a little less humid and the wind was shifting. Should be a good weekend. 72 and very high humidity for my 3.1 miles this morning.

Checking back in. Several changes: some good, some bad. Haven’t been in the ER in about 3 weeks though so that’s a plus

I’m in for my 6 month check up to see whether my meds are working or if we have to change them all up again.

I’d appreciate any spare good luck that anyone has to offer

I have some spare good luck change in my pocket Romani - it’s coming your way.

Have some of mine, too, Romani!

Stay safe, PlantMom and Niquii!

Sabaray - just fyi - I received my credit card reverse charge for my returned Garmin. Looked on my credit card website and saw that it went through.

Best of luck to you, @romanigypsyeyes!

45 minutes on the Cybex Arc + 1.25 miles walking on the treadmill. The last few days I’ve noticed the low level dull ache in my right hip is gone!! Yay and yay!!! It didn’t really prevent me from doing anything, but I’d notice it on and off, especially after a while on the Arc. Is it possible my previous running shoes were the cause of some of my distress? I do still have the awkward gait thing going on when walking fast, though…

Enough griping! Now on to the good news – my golf handicap came down 3 strokes!! Updated handicaps come out on the 1st and 15th of the month. Before today mine had dropped 3 strokes since the beginning of the season, in May. But 3 strokes all at once??? I know this may not seem impressive to some of you, but it is to me! And yes, my handicap is still pretty high, but it’s going in the right direction.

Downright steamy out today – but we’re getting some much needed rain.

I am in awe with all of you golfers! I could not play any ball sports, even in the ball is a golf ball. The closest to golf I could probably get is miniature golf, LOL.

So updating. My lab work is still atrociously bad but my symptoms are slowly improving. My Rheum has basically given up trying to pinpoint what combination of rheumatic diseases I have. I have a combination of both inflammatory and non-inflammatory diseases which means that my big and small joints and impacted as well as much muscles and other tissue.

Waiting on more blood work but the good news is that they’re not switching me over to methotrexate! I’m sticking with my med cocktail for now (though I’ve tapered off the prednisone and lyrica because they weren’t doing anything for me) and we’re waiting to see how it goes over the next few months.

So I’ll pop back in here around Christmas lol.

ETA: OH! And I found out that I am safe to have vaccines but they likely won’t be as effective for me because of the immune issues. But still, better safe than sorry. So I got another pneumonia vaccine and we’re sending my blood to make sure I still have antibodies against some things and if not, I’ll be back in for those.

Sending you luck, Romani!

Well, it’s September 1 and September marks my run-iversary - this year, will be 4 years since I started C25K! I decided I was ready for something a little structured for a bit - something to be accountable to. So I downloaded the 5k-10k app tonight and did my first workout. It starts out “easy” of course, and with a warm up of 5 minutes (which I made myself do, I normally don’t) and a cool down. I didn’t officially “cool down” because I added some mileage after the workout since it was only 2.72 miles on the app GPS. I think I ended up around 4!

I PLAN to be motivated and get through the series - like the C25K, I’ll do it at my own pace, sometimes repeating a workout if I wasn’t satisfied with how it went.

Yay!!! Good for you!

Go work abasket and happy runiversary!
