Thanks, all. I think I’ll look for them myself before I send my husband in search… I know I’ve had Noosa before and loved it, but it fell off my radar since I don’t do the shopping.
Thanks Bunsen! I did toss the bag I had a few months ago - it looks a little different from the one pictured. I bought a new one since then, which hopefully should be OK.
I’d never heard of either Noosa or Ellenos.
Went to both websites – Noosa is sold near me, although not at a store I normally shop in, but not Ellenos. It looks like the Noosa 150 calorie containers are 4 oz, compared to the 6 oz container I get now. Sugar content is definitely less. Next time I see it, I’ll buy some.
dmd, your devotion to running while in NY is impressive. I once ran on the Highline – it was in the off-season and chilly and early in the morning, so the crowds weren’t bad. I wouldn’t go near there most times – it’s become incredibly popular. The one time I ran on the Hudson River Trail, I started around 116th St., and it wasn’t at all crowded.
I haven’t had the guts yet to do Citibike. Just the thought of riding a bike on NYC streets gives me palpitations. I would like to bike on the Hudson River Trail – but I think I’d walk the bike there to avoid riding on the streets!
@fireandrain – I actually picked up the bike at the Hudson River Trail and ended my ride on the Hudson River Trail; I did ride a bit on the streets, but I found it not that bad (but I used to commute by bicycle when I lived in Boston, so my standards are very low). As for the running, I was running at 7 AM, so not too crowded yet.
18 holes of golf, walking. I was back in the money, so a good day!
Color me surprised – I checked the Noosa website and it’s sold at my go-to supermarket here in RI. (It’s also sold at the local Walmart, and may be cheaper. I’ll have to scope it out.)
Noosa is pretty much at all the big box grocers here and the little ones too. It was originally in the organic section at Kroger (? why). I hope I haven’t over-talked it up - but I do really like it ! I’m not really a fan of any other flavored or big brand yogurt besides the plain Stonyfield so I was thrilled to find this brand.
Week 2, Day 1 of 5k to 10K. Not too hard yet - mileage for the workout is currently right around 3 miles. Depending where I am when I finish it up, I sometimes am tacking on a little extra.
Mellow yoga today and a couple of hours of work in the veggie garden–lots of digging and cleaning up.
No exercise of any kind today. Sigh, I should go do some pushups…
^^One reason it’s good to have a dog. At the very least, I can count on a couple good pup walks to get in some movement.
I had a memory pop up on my Facebook timeline this morning; apparently four years ago today I graduated from the Couch to 5K program! Wow, I feel as if I’ve come a long way since then!
Tomorrow morning (very early!) we catch our flight to Washington DC for the RAGNAR relay race! We start in Cumberland MD on Friday morning and then will finish 208 miles later in DC on Saturday night. This should be interesting…
I look forward to your Ragnar report, C3Baker! That will be some different terrain for you, that’s for sure. Enjoy!
Sorry I am not informed but what distance of that relay will you run C3Baker? Is it one piece of a relay or do you rinse and repeat??? Sounds pretty cool!
Yes! Playing (& walking) 9 holes of golf later today, but this morning I took the pup for a longish walk. I do love this time of year at the beach.
Good luck to your team, C3Baker!
Tried to be a good co-worker today. Brought in fresh, ripe tomatoes, cucumbers, mild banana peppers and basil from my garden. Added some fresh mozzarella and vinaigrette to make a delicious salad to share with others (small office). One person was thrilled and dug right in. Everyone else said they aren’t much for tomatoes or peppers or herbs - after which I heard them dial up Jimmy John’s and order their twice a week sandwiches on white bread, hold the veggies, add extra cheese and chips.
I tried!!!
Oh abasket, I feel your pain!!! I would be beyond excited if someone brought that in. I usually don’t indulge in the baked goods - but your salad would be so yummy AND so guilt-free. At least you had one taker!
Oh God! I would have loved that salad! I am NOT a Jimmy John’s fan, and it’s a big favorite at our office, too.
JJ is a favorite around here, too. I am not a fan. Gimme @abasket’s salad any time of the day!
@abasket We don’t have Jimmy John in New England–at least I’ve never heard of it–I’d bet money that your garden tomato salad dish was far superior.
Today, I’m making a pepper jelly with ghost peppers (a really hot pepper variety, which should will make the hottest pbj sandwiches ever!!) Can you tell I have more hot peppers in my garden than I can handle.
Walked the dog this morning for 2 miles and will do another mile this evening–spending most of the day on pepper jelly. Never made it before.
They’ve moved into eastern MA in the last few years. There’s one about a mile from my office. They deliver free to all the office parks around here, and they are here multiple times a day.
I have not succumbed. Yet.
